Penny has signed for Charlton, so defo not coming back.

On this, I believe he offers a fair bit more to the team than Connor Sheilds does at the moment and should be starting. Connor struggles to hold the ball up or beat his man. Wee Joe can beat his man. If he can just find the end product, he’ll be a good player at this level. Time will tell if he can keep improving under Hammell.

Unless we are going to pay up Ojala’s contract as he’s a permacrock!

Motherwell agree fee for Norwegian centre-back Sondre Solholm Johansen Motherwell have agreed a fee for Norwegian defender Sondre Solholm Johansen. The 26-year-old centre-back's club, Mjondalen, announced that their player would play his final Norwegian top-flight match on Saturday before joining Motherwell subject to agreeing personal terms and passing a medical. Motherwell boss Graham Alexander earlier outlined his aims ahead of Tuesday's transfer deadline after bringing in midfielder Sean Goss on Thursday. "If we can get two more players in, I think we will have a very strong squad," said Alexander ahead of Saturday's cinch Premiership visit of Dundee. "We are talking to a couple of clubs about a couple of players. Hopefully that will progress over the weekend."

You do know that signings are usually concluded a few days before we get to hear about it. If we have signed him, there must already be agreement between the clubs and with the player, with only the official international clearance pending, which I image is all but done

https://insidefutbol.com/2021/08/16/motherwell-fail-with-bid-for-defender-considering-new-offer/523552/ Motherwell Fail With Bid For Defender, Considering New Offer 16/08/2021 - 12:15 BST INSIDE FUTBOL Next story Motherwell have had a bid for Mjondalen defender Sondre Solholm Johansen rejected, but could well return to the race with a fresh offer as they look to snap him up. Johansen is out of contract at Norwegian side Mjondalen at the start of 2022 and Motherwell have zeroed in on him as a potential recruit in the ongoing window. The Scottish Premiership side slapped in an offer for the player, but it has been rejected, according to Norwegian outlet Nettavisen. However, Motherwell are claimed to strongly want to sign Johansen and are considering going back in with an improved offer. The Scottish Premiership side though are not the only club keen on the 26-year-old. Several sides are alive to Johansen’s situation and could well make a move to rival Motherwell for his signature this summer. He has clocked 15 appearances in the Norwegian top flight this season, chipping in with one goal and one assist. Johansen is an experienced campaigner and has turned out in both the Norwegian top flight and second tier. It remains to be seen if Motherwell will win the race for his signature as he edges towards the exit door at Mjondalen.

From a quick squiz at what their fans say, they think he is the ‘worst central defender ever’; but then that’s quite common.

Motherwell sign Irish defender Darragh O’Connor The 21-year-old hasn’t had long to wait for a new club following his release by FA Cup winners Leicester City Fri, 09 Jul, 2021 - 20:48 Scottish Premiership side Motherwell are set to complete the signing of Wexford-born defender Darragh O’Connor. The 21-year-old hasn’t had long to wait for a new club following his release by FA Cup winners Leicester City, earning a contract offer from Graham Alexander. O’Connor impressed over a two-game trial period to secure a deal. Fellow Scots St Johnstone were also interested in luring him but the centre-back will stay at Fir Park. It was just over two years ago when Leicester swooped to recruit O’Connor, who had racked up 20 first-team matches for League of Ireland First Division club Wexford during his teens. He was part of Leicester’s U23 squad, regularly training with Brendan Rodgers’ first-team, but needed a move to enhance his development with competitive minutes. Motherwell have Saturday’s final friendly against Millwall before they kick the season off with League Cup fixtures next week. https://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/soccer/arid-40333748.html

Sources: Motherwell agree to sign Woolery from Tranmere 22nd Jun, 2021 | 3:02pm Motherwell have agreed a deal to sign Tranmere Rovers striker Kaiyne Woolery, Football Insider can reveal. The Scottish Premiership club have swooped for the 26-year-old ahead of his contract expiring at the end of this month. James: I look after Jude in England... A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Woolery has been pencilled in for a medical at Motherwell as he completes a free transfer. The forward helped Tranmere reach the League Two play-offs in the 2020-21 campaign. He contributed 11 goals and three assists in 52 appearances over the course of the season but Rovers ultimately fell short of promotion. Born in London, Woolery has spent the majority of his professional career at Swindon Town. The Robins signed him from Wigan Athletic for a fee in the region of £350,000 in August 2017. Woolery contributed 14 goals and 14 assists in 111 appearances for the club before leaving on a free to join Tranmere last September. The versatile forward, who can play anywhere across the front line, has also spent time at Bolton Wanderers, Notts County and Forest Green Rovers. Motherwell boss Graham Alexander knows of Woolery from his time managing in the English lower leagues with Fleetwood Town, Scunthorpe and Salford City. Woolery will become the third arrival of the summer at Fir Park after Connor Shields and Justin Amaluzor. Alexander has lost Chris Long and Devante Cole to Crewe Alexandra and Barnsley respectively this summer. He will hope Woolery can help fill the void left by the forwards who scored a combined 18 goals last season.

Burrows said next week on Twitter.

I think playing alongside Turnbull was key to Hastie’s form, which makes you realise just how good Turnbull is.
-
What’s the Goalie doing too?
-
Great result in the end. Thought Tony Watt and Long linked really well last 25 mins. Grimshaw makes my eyes bleed though.
-
Tony Watt has done more in a short cameo than Lang did in 65 minutes.
-
That’s because it’s not tomorrow it is a week tomorrow.

4-3-3, 3-4-3, 3-5-2, 4-4-2. We have lots of options with this squad.
-
C’mon Shaka, take the claret and amber specs off. Most of Scotland is either of the green or blue persuasion. Hastie won’t be our only Rangers fan in the team. Simple fact is he left Motherwell for a lot more money than we could pay plus we got a large development fee into the bargain. The games against Rangers and Celtic are bonus games in terms of points. Hastie can play against all our realistic competitors. He is better than what we have, has a great relationship with Turnbull, can score goals and has a point to prove. I can’t see many negatives. Nobody knows how to get the best out of him better than Motherwell! Get down if your high horse and support the team and whoever pulls on the jersey.
-
We don’t. There is no young wide players in the reserves that are ready to step up. Seedorf and Hylton both flattered to deceive last season, so we definitely need additional wide players to have competition in those positions. Where it is Hastie, the rumoured Lang or a.another, we need at least one additional wide player in, possibly two.

Here’s hoping they have already paid us everything they owe us for Kipre would be my first thought!

Motherwell players’ rowdy lockdown party broken up by cops after neighbours complain Neighbours say defender Jake Carroll has friends over to his home in Larkhall three times a week with high-end vehicles spotted at the property. Mark McGivern Police broke up a rowdy party after Motherwell FC players were accused of breaching lockdown rules. Officers were called to Irish defender Jake Carroll’s home in Larkhall, Lanarkshire, after neighbours complained that he was repeatedly having noisy shindigs with team-mates. The latest party resulted in the player’s friends, including fellow defender Charles Dunne, being ordered to leave the semi-detached home at 1am on Sunday. Police were told revellers had repeatedly turned up at Carroll’s home in recent weeks to enjoy loud dance music. Carroll is understood to have told club bosses he stayed within lockdown rules. He claimed he had formed an extended household with his friend Dunne and that there were only three other friends at the party, all of whom came from the same household. Charles Dunne’s SUV (inset) was spotted at Jake Carroll’s property (Image: Daily Record) He said all five stayed in the garden. But his account is disputed by neighbours, who said Saturday night’s party started in the garden but ended up in his living room. One neighbour said: “We live in a family-friendly new estate in Larkhall and Jake’s behaviour in recent weeks can only be described as antisocial. “He has been breaking lockdown rules by having multiple friends, some of whom include other football players, stay over and by partying for two, sometimes three, nights a week. “Saturday night was the final straw as his friends piled in, most of them turning up in high-end cars. “The music started and didn’t stop. We have a neighbourhood WhatsApp group and many residents commented on how the noise had woken them up or had been keeping them up – and they don’t even live in the same street.” The neighbour said residents had been angered after one partygoer roared around the estate in a car at high speed. They added: “This is the behaviour of a professional footballer who is meant to be a role model. Many of the residents and children on the estate know of him and it’s not behaviour that is acceptable, never mind during lockdown.” Dunne has been a regular guest at Carroll’s home. He left his Mercedes SUV, with a distinctive personalised number plate, outside the house after police ordered the party to disperse on Sunday. Dunne, 27, recently announced he had signed a new short-term deal at Motherwell as he comes back from a groin injury. Carroll, 28, has also been battling back to fitness after suffering a serious Achilles injury in February. A neighbour who sent a complaint to Motherwell via the club’s online contact page wrote: “I was wondering what Motherwell FC’s stance is on a number of your players gathering at another player’s home for all-night parties each week? “Clearly these men are breaking lockdown rules and have absolutely no regard for other individuals, not to mention neighbours, when they are all shouting, playing music and being extremely antisocial at 2am and 3am in the morning.” Motherwell's Charles Dunne pictured playing against St Mirren in 2019 (Image: SNS Group) Police Scotland’s divisional chief inspector Lex Baillie confirmed that partygoers were “encouraged” to go home. He said: “We can confirm that we attended a property at Aquitania Crescent in Larkhall at about 1am on Sunday, following a complaint of noise from the property. “Officers spoke to the occupants and encouraged them to go home. The gathering dispersed a short time later.”

St Mirren join race for Mark O'Hara (Image: SNS Group) St Mirren have agreed a deal with Peterborough United for midfielder Mark O’Hara. O’Hara had a successful spell at Motherwell last season, but has yet to finalise a deal with the Fir Park side. The English side’s director of football Barry Fry told the Peterborough Today he doesn’t understand why the deal with Motherwell hasn’t been completed.

It will probably end up being someone like Shay McCartan if it’s League 2, out of contract and can play all across the front line.

Does anyone know Yet who the new National League striker it is that we are meant to be signing?
