  1. Do you really think we wont sign a right back and another striker? We have already had strikers on trial and been linked with a couple of right backs, so at what point do you think we aren't actively looking to recruit players in these areas?
  2. Coz Mclean left because Motherwell didn't want him..........Antagonising the players, the guy is the Manager, do you want him to make them cups of tea and wipe their arses? Do you really think Jim wont improve the squad depth further, coz I have no doubt JG will strengthen........How can anyone judge his new signings without seeing them in a good few games.........i.e I think the arguments listed in the post are just a classic case of a Motherwell fan finding a reason to moan! So in short a pile o pish!
  3. I've never heard so much pish in all my life!
  4. You'd think the lad was a world beater......lets just see how well he does at Falkirk!
  5. Do you ever stop trying to play devil's advocate Melvin? In reply to the original post, why should he take any blullshit? Why should he take 'Reputation' and 'The Past' into account..........that is history, not the future. Jim Gannon is an exceptional manager and who cares if he aint liked? How many of us like our bosses? It par for the course in normal life, so wht should it be any different in the world of football. I have every faith in JG to do the job he is paid for, if Mr Lasley or Mr Hammell don't like then that is just tough titties! No one is irreplaceable! Every time we have lost a 'big name' player, we have done just fine and dandy.....if not better! IN JG I TRUST!
  6. Gaag, of course there will be cameras there, how else will they show the goals on the news tomorrow?
  7. I don't rate him, and think he will be a bit part player next season. I know he seems to be a lot of fans favourite player, but I feel he isn't strong enough in any one area to make him a first teamer........and McGhee left him out quite a lot too, so it seems it wasn't just me that thinks that way.
  8. Fair play Steelboy, but it just seems the way of the Scot to find something to be negative about. Before McGhee, Motherwell for many years previously went from inexperienced manager to inexperienced manager. I will never defend Malpish, but Davies went on to do not bad, but was ran out of town here, and as much as I hate him, so has Big Ginger nut......so maybe we shouldn't always be so quick to judge (and that goes for our chairman). I think the best thing we could do is benefit from a long term manager, not one year here, two years there, plus I have a good feeling about our new manager!
  9. Sometimes (and I mean most times especially on this board), I feel people will find a reason to moan (or as some might put it, 'play devils advocate') no matter what happens. Sign established SPL players and they are just the same old same old that does nothing to excite.....oh but hey they are experienced. OR Sign undiscovered players who seem to have a decent reputation at their respective level, are young, can be moulded, may make us a lot of money ala Porter, Skippy et al, but hey they are inexperienced! Damned if you do damned if you dont! Where is the faith in our new manager to get it right. The right appointment until proven otherwise in my book! Keep the Faith
  10. I am pretty certain what Gannon means is we will get 4 permanent signings...........of which we currently have three and 4 loan signings.....of which we have none, so only 5 new signings to come not 8!
  11. I know, but I think Jennings is a direct replacement for Klimpl in the holding role, so don't think we need Klimpl anymore, as there are more important areas of the team that require strengthening, such as an attaching midfielder, striker, and right back.
  12. He already has in Jennings!
  13. Geez peace ya tube, that's all i'm going to say!
  14. must be slow news day if we are discussing Stephen Hughes AGAIN..........he isn't going to re-sign and is no longer a Motherwell player, so it is time to move on. Was looking forward to reading the papers this morning as you usually get more rumours/gossip/potential signing target news on a sunday, but seems like there is nothing of note in the papers!
  15. Could simply be JG pretending we don't have any money so that clubs don't bump up their asking proce for players in the know that we have some pennies to spend? BUT could just as easily be that we don't have money to burn!
  16. No chance, he is even worse at commanding his area than Frazer! Wouldn't sign him if he was willing to play for nothing! TBH I can't believe Celtic signed him!
  17. I'm going to sound like a doom mongerer, but I tend to agree, based on last seasons form! But he is young and deserves a chance. Mind you both Crags and Reynold are way better than Strong and Ready, so we should be glad of that atleast......and yes I know both of them came from Englands lower leagues and were rubbish, just incase people think I am contradicting myself!
  18. Fair point Haggis, they can defo be added to the list of blame! I am just worried people judge Gannon unfairly. He has a very hard task ahead of him, harder than any manager in the recent past in my opinion, based on the fact that he has to deal with relatively high expectations (due to McGhee's rein), with one of the weakest squads to ever be inherited!
  19. Indeed. I hated him from the minute the Scotland/Hearts crap started!
  20. Well we will just need to wait and see, but I will support our manager until such times as I become a sceptic, and remember, losing quinn, clarkson, hughes, klimpl, porter etc had nothing to do with the new manager, the big shovel face and boyle (plus the muppets that run the SPL) are responsible for that!
  21. Oh and big Ports came from League 1......and you can't say he wasn't successful, so why should you be so quick to suggest that it isn't a decent league or that decent players can't come from it? I think John Boyle would like to think it was a good bit of business, considering what we got for big Ports when he moved to Derby!
  22. I couldn't care less if he has the club at heart, it doesn't make you a great player, and i'm affraid we will certainly have to agree to disagree on you opinion of Crags, but that's fair enough......we don't need to agree! As for being capped 40 times by N.I............it's hardly a super power of world football now is it? How many caps has a Faroes player for example.........plenty! Doesn't mean he is a great player! I have faith in the new manager, and by all means have a pop if his reign proves to be a bad one, but if he is successful i'll remember to remind you of you point of view at this point in time...........likewise you can do the same to me if I am wrong!
  23. And you could definately include Martyn Corrigan in that mould as well! Blind faith, despite being well past their best, or indeed never that good in the first place!
  24. Maybe Jennings is his man for the job? All action midfielder by all accounts, and was up for the captaincy at his last club!
