  1. I also don’t see how he could be described as creative........he’s a defensive midfielder!?!
  2. That certainly would be underwhelming, however so was Michael Higdon and he went on to smash it.
  3. I was shot down earlier, but my first guess was Ali Crawford on the back of the newspaper rumour.
  4. He’s 6’1” so not exactly lacking in stature, but admittedly not a giant.
  5. It’s just a left field guess, but I wonder if the creative midfielder we are signing is Charlie Carter from Woking in the National League. Young, two footed, goal scoring midfielder.
  6. Fair enough, your probably right, but Ali Crawford on form is very good at retaining the ball. I’ve not watched him closely enough to judge him on getting about the Park. As I said, I fully expect a 6 foot plus player to come in, and as you say, be a box to box or quarterback type player. Makes you wonder how SR is going to fit all his midfielders in. It definitely suggests that one or two may be shipped out. The big question is, will Carl McHugh keep getting picked regardless of form.
  7. ‘Stature’ has two meanings: 1. A person’snatural height. 2. Importance or reputation gained by ability or achievement. Knowing SR, it probably means the former, however I’d say Ali Crawford could fit into the latter.
  8. This article suggests we paid a fee for Donnelly. https://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/sport/football/hartlepool-united/liam-donnelly-knocks-back-pools-contract-to-seal-scottish-premiership-deal-1-9197418 Liam Donnelly knocks back Pools contract to seal Scottish Premiership deal Hartlepool United defender Liam Donnelly has signed a deal with Scottish Premiership outfit Motherwell. The Northern Ireland under-21 skipper knocked back the chance to extend his Pools stay and instead opted to head north of the border to join former Victoria Park teammate Trevor Carson at Fir Park. Despite Donnelly's deal coming to end this month, Pools still receive a development fee for the player, who was signed by current director of football Craig Hignett from Premier League side Fulham in August 2016. In a statement released to the club website, the fee changing hands was described as "undisclosed", although Pools are thought to have banked a significant fee due to the player's development during his time at the Vic, especially on the international stage, and down to the number of first team games played by the defender. The statement reads: "Liam Donnelly has this afternoon completed a move to Scottish Premier League outfit Motherwell for an undisclosed fee. "The Northern Ireland Under-21 international travelled to Scotland on Wednesday to undergo a medical and now all terms have been agreed to confirm his switch to Fir Park.
  9. Totally agree, but I always thought he was a Well fan, which made him even more special. Was just surprised to hear he wasn’t as he has been with us since he was 9 I think.
  10. I was sad to find out that wee Alan isn’t actually a Motherwell fan........so says a mum of one of our U20 players.
  11. I think you will find it is McHugh that thinks he’s a midfielder and prefers it to centre back; which is the reason why I think we’d be best placed to cut our loses with him and replace him with a genuine defensive midfielder.
  12. Yeah, he signed a two year deal....... http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2017/06/02/bigirimana-is-signing-number-two/
  13. Scrap that, it was only 1 year: http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2017/07/24/well-add-young-striker-newell/
  14. Yes, that’s correct. 2 were rescinded, I think 1 more was appealed but rejected, one was for Scott Sinclair’s dive in the League Cup Final and now this one, which should also be appealed and reduced to a yellow at worst.
  15. I think people also forget he was just coming back from a long time out through injury when he joined. Always takes time to get back to your best after a long time out.
  16. 4-2-3-1 is the answer to Frear/Cadden/Tanner or Çiftçi, however that involves going to a flat back four, which Robinson seems reluctant to do.
  17. Rory Gaffney, who was mentioned earlier in the window perhaps?
  18. I give you a C-.......must try harder. In the era of Donald Trump style fake news, you need to invest at least 3 minutes into player research before posting!
  19. Looks right footed to me from the various video clips.
  20. I think Fisher and Petra will on their way either on loan or permanently.
  21. So absolutely no gossip on who we might be signing then......just lots of moaning and procrastinating?!? Someone must have something. If we are indeed after 3 Scottish Championship players, then who are they?
  22. Daily Record suggesting that we are in for Mark OHara of Dundee on a pre-contract.
