  1. Great 3 points and nice to get a wee bit of luck. Enjoyed Boyds celebration - especially when it was followed up by his involvement in our first goal and his late penalty miss.
  2. Impossible? It's a fairly straightforward decision for someone standing in line with the incident when that's the only thing they have to look at. It's a far easier incident to spot than a tight offside call.
  3. I thought they were both reds in the current climate. I thought his tackle on Hammell was worse than the one McDonald got sent off for but that was overlooked because Hammell managed to get out the way before there was any real contact.
  4. My thoughts as well. If winning the ball and then carrying on into the player is a red then going through the player from behind with no prospect of winning the ball is a red all day long no matter how high or low your foot is.
  5. Football contracts are normally a bit different to other contracts though.
  6. The board should be able to act quickly here. If they are in any way competent they will have had the discussion over McGhee's future at some point since the Aberdeen game and will have contingency plans in place with regard to both short term and long term options. Yesterday's result should be the trigger for them to act.
  7. I don't have any confidence that those in charge of the club would be able to pick a decent replacement for McGhee and fear we'd go the same way as St Mirren. The club as a whole has gone backwards over the last few years.
  8. Unfortunately the decisions made by the referee have had a bearing on the outcome of the footie recently so it's not easy to "worry" about one and not the other. No need to get involved if you don't want to.
  9. I don't think a player has to get injured for a tackle to be violent or dangerous. It's about what could potentially happen. The way Vigurs went in could have potentially done Sinclair's knee or ankle. There was also a tackle in the second half where the guy went through the ball and the player in midfield - is that not now classed as excessive force as the fact he went through the ball first doesn't matter?
  10. The 3 questions I have from that are why is the rule only being implemented in Scotland, why are we the only team who seem to be suffering when there are similar tackles against us and also, if McDonld and Burrows received and accepted an explanation was this info passed on to McGhee, McHugh and the rest of the players? From the reaction to the red card on Saturday it didn't look like it.
  11. That makes no difference to the fact that he wasn't and the consensus in the studio was that a yellow was correct.
  12. Just saw a much worse tackle by Mata in today's Leicester v Man U game. Doesn't get any of the ball, travelling at far more pace than McHugh and puts Vardy 3 feet in the air after catching him above the ankle. Yellow card given and the concensus in the studio was that was correct.
  13. I think players on loan can play against any club now. Not playing against the parent club can't form part of the loan agreement.
  14. I think most people would know that. I was just pointing out that it wasn't post match as you previously stated.
  15. Don't think it was post match. It's been mentioned that it was shown on the screens at half time.
  16. IMO McGhee made mistakes yesterday but there's no way he can be blamed for McManus making a total arse of it.
  17. Somebody should ask McGhee if he's ever heard what people say about doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result...
  18. Game was there for the taking and we threw it away again. Utter shite.
  19. I wouldn't write Thomas off yet. I think he needs a run in a team that's playing well to adapt to first team football. At the moment he's being brought on in games where we're struggling and understandably finding it difficult.
  20. Samson is brutal. Was never a penalty though as Rooney twists his foot to initiate contact. Annoying that we've gifted them 2 goals and passed up the best chance we'll have to equalise. Lucas looks a bit lightweight in midfield.

    Very sad news, RIP
  22. They spent money they didn't have on those players because they thought they could win the league. That's gone for this season and they now need to cut their losses. They need to bring money in before they can spend money. Also, I very much doubt that they paid anywhere near £1.5 million for Garner.
