No, if an opponent did that it would be a foul. The match is still ongoing when the goalkeeper has the ball in his hands which is why if there is an injury, for example, the goalkeeper needs to put the ball out of play to stop the game.
So constantly going up and down the line and making a goal saving challenge didn’t impact the game? It’s fair enough if you don’t like him but at least be factual about his performance.
If you look at how wide the grass cutting line is at the bottom compared to the top it puts the offside line into perspective. The further away points look closer together. Possibly clutching at straws but it would be highly unusual to get the benefit of any doubt against them, lol.
That could well be the sticking point. Popular opinion seems to be that he should be offered it until the end of the season but he seems like a confident guy so he might think he deserves longer. With his results so far he’s in a decent bargaining position.
If Kettlewell is the best candidate I fear we’re in real trouble. Remember Hammell picked up the pieces left by Alexander and won 3 of his first 4 games while giving interviews where he said all the right things? All fell apart pretty quickly and I’d be concerned Kettlewell would go the same way.
