Is that rule adhered to in the SPL? I've not seen any games this season but in the past players have been penalised for making an attempt go for the ball whether they got there or not whereas in other leagues (EPL) they get away with it if they don't actually touch it. Doesn't excuse the schoolboy error of not playing to the whistle though!

I think we approach these games all wrong. Too much emphasis on the quality of who we're playing rather than the quality of our own team. It's the same against Celtic and (oldco) Rangers. Needs to change.

Did you listen to the game? If you did, did it sound like we'd learned anything from the games against pana or did it sound very similar?

Looks as though a return journey would cost around £80 on the high speed train.

You can get the fast train that takes about 1.5/2 hours. I've never taken the train in Spain so I'm not 100% sure of the prices but I'll have a look.

IMO there's no chance of an early ko. Spanish teams tend to play later in the evening but I think this will be a 2045 ko (GMT+1).

Considering staying overnight in Valencia and then back to Madrid in the morning/afternoon.

Great draw for me! If anyone's going via Madrid the second leg of the Supercopa (Real v Barcelona) is on the 29th with tickets still available. I'll be driving from Madrid to Valencia on the day of the game so can give a lift to anyone who may need it.

As far as I know the SFA have confirmed that the transfer window will close on the 31st. It would only be extended if the final day was a Sunday.

Who said clubs shouldn't use TV income as part of their budget? Of course they should use it but I doubt every team in Europe builds their budget round it like you claimed (Man City for one certainly don't). Still waiting for proof of this as I think you just made it up.

No. You show me evidence that every football club in europe designs their business model around the tv deal and only one country in europe has fans stupid enough to force their clubs in financial penury.

As far as I know all overseas members should have got an e-mail with the information. You were then allowed to submit your vote via e-mail as long as you used the e-mail address that the club holds for you. At least that's what happened with me.

Would like to think our club would distance themselves from this ASAP but with a director on the SPL board I doubt it. I'm looking forward to an official statement one way or the other.

Just when you think they can't make more of an arse of the situation....... If Newco don't have to apply to the SFL as any other team would (and I still doubt whether they will even be in a position to do so) then I'm out. Not another penny to a corrupt league or football association.
