I believe they've been in discussions for quite some time. My head zips up the back though. It will be interesting to see if these discussions actually lead to a reform of the leagues if there is no Newco team competing in any league next season which is a distinct possibility.

Good point.

The worst case scenario is not no Rangers. It's voting yes and the vote still going against Rangers. No Rangers fans, less Motherwell fans, fans of other teams boycotting Fir Park etc would add up to a lot more than £275k. Can't understand why anybody would vote yes (and hopefully they won't).

Buying a season ticket gives you the right to get into games but does not give you a right to vote on club issues. Joining the Well Society gives you a right to vote on club issues but does not give you a right to get into games.

I only scanned through the 'Mr Green' letter but FFS what a pile of shit. Does this guy know they are in the process of being liquidated rather being in administration and they haven't actually received any punishment yet? Does he also think they can just choose what league they start in?

Who's committed to anything? People are saying they'll vote no on the assumption that it's a yes/no vote but if it turns out that there's more to it I'm sure they'll cope.

I will definitely be voting no. IMO the worst case scenario is us voting yes and the overall vote going against The Rangers (which is looking increasingly likely). If that was the case we'd still be losing whatever money they bring to the SPL but we'd also face fans of the teams who voted no boycotting Fir Park as well as some of our own fans giving up season tickets and Well Society memberships.

Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
GrahamH replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
He didn't actually say he played for Celtic against a Rangers side containing Gascoigne and Laudrup. I imagine he would have been referring to when he played against them for Clyde. -

Hopefully Well Society members will be furnished with said information. I've e-mailed the club to enquire whether or not we'll receive any info. -

The club hasn't been liquidated yet and won't be for another 8-10 weeks. Still plenty of time to punish them. Also, some promising news from Graham Spiers:- @GrahamSpiers: If current vibes are correct then Celtic, Dons, Hibs, D Utd, M'Well + St Mirren all set to vote RFC to Div 3. A dire fate - but a just one. -

Do they not understand the irony of their threats that teams will "go to the wall" when their team has done just that? Ha ha you might die! Erm, you're already dead ya dick!? -

He did say that but when pressed he couldn't name the teams. I really hope his deal to buy Rangers goes through as he is a total loonball. -

That's why I'd expect any voting options to be more than a simple yes or no. -

So how is it time to put up or shut up? -

How can people "put up or shut up" when there are no games on for them not to attend? Also, nothing's actually happened yet so why is it time for people to do something? -

That's where I hope HMRC would step in. Ibrox and Murray Park were valued at £110 million not too long ago but according to a valuation arranged by Fudd and Fudder they're now worth less than £5.5 million? -

The CVA proposal has gone out to creditors to vote on but Duff and Duffer have said that if it's successful they won't pay out until the results of the big tax case and the court case against Collyer Bristow are known as that will affect the amount paid out to each creditor. Can't really see HMRC going for that. -

Do the rest of the SPL not have to vote on whether or not the SPL share can be transferred and if it can what sanctions will be placed on the newco? Sanctions = punishment for breaking the rules? -
Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
GrahamH replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
BTC is now irrelevant moneywise as the CVA offer has been made. BTC going against Rangers would just be added to the overall debt and dilute the pot. However if the BTC goes against Rangers it virtually proves dual contracts and should lead to title stripping even if there is a newco. -

So a newco could carry on in the SPL as if nothing had happened? I didn't realise that. I thought the SPL clubs had to vote. -

If Rangers can agree a CVA and come out of administration they're not breaking any rules so I don't see how they could be punished further. -

I'm quite happy with the outcome of todays meeting. Firstly, there's no guarantee that they'll get voted into the SPL and secondly they don't know what the punishment will be if they do get voted in as each case is going to be dealt with on it's own merits. Can't see that helping with Charles Green's recruitment drive for his consortium. -

If Stuart McCall's comments in The Sun are representative of the clubs thinking it looks like we'll be voting in a Newco :- McCall admits Rangers' loss has been Motherwell's gain and he sympathises. He added: "They're going through hell but it does not just have an impact on them — it has an impact on the whole of Scottish football. "Without Rangers the league would be knackered. "I know a lot of supporters are saying they should be liquidated and come back as a new club in division three. "But that would be the end for Scottish football — there certainly wouldn't be any TV deals and the element of competition would vanish because Celtic would walk away with the SPL. "Financially speaking, Rangers mean a lot to us because of the revenue that comes into the coffers when we play them. The SPL without Rangers is unthinkable and I'm sure lots of clubs would go to the wall without them."
