http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35097223 On behalf of this Motherwell fan a massive Fuck You very much Jean-Marc Bosman, cunt!

Cheers! Missed out a full weeks predictions earlier in the season too. Still, plenty of time to catch up, or fuck it up! lol

No one getting points this week for the Kilmarnock vs Dundee Utd game? (only asking cos I got it right...and I think I might leap into 2nd place with it! lol)

How so? There are a few clubs whose wage budget will be smaller than ours that are currently out-performing us. Spending money doesn't always equate to quality. The fact is we made a loss over one of our most successful spells on the park for years. That cannot be allowed to happen again. The money we have wasted this season is also scandalous, bringing in loan players that aren't any better than the players we have and signing a ridiculous amount of strikers!

"Then there would be little need for firefighting using Well Society money or loans from Les and the WS cash could be used for the purpose it was originally meant, as an emergency slush fund when cashflow is slow." Exactly what I said? No?

Agree with Lobey, you can't spend money you don't have, we should be budgeting for worst case scenario every season and treating any extra income from cup run's/player sales etc. as a bonus to invest in the club. Then there would be little need for firefighting using Well Society money or loans from Les and the WS cash could be used for the purpose it was originally meant, as an emergency slush fund when cashflow is slow.

Think you would've had that up 5 mins in! Never noticed that before! Lol

Ah right, that's what I had seen. Cheers

Wasn't at the game on Saturday and if the "highlights" were anything to go by I didn't miss much. The goals we conceded were terrible! We are atrocious at dealing with set pieces and yet again poor at dealing with balls coming into the box, we're second to absolutely every loose ball! Until we get a manager in that can organise us, change the attitude of the players and make us difficult to break down we are going to struggle. Can't see what we are trying to do with the different formations and changing personnel every week either? We just end up lacking any kind of stability & coherency and just adds to the confusion! Another thing I noticed was the away end looked empty, anyone know how many we took up?

Must admit the Barraclough 'Stegosaurus' remix of Goodbye had me chuckling at the end!

Prediction league joined and donation sent. All the best.

Think we will finish relatively comfortably mid-table, think Hamilton Accies will really struggle this year and also think Dundee also might struggle to replicate their last season's form. 1. Celtic 2. Aberdeen 3. ICT 4. St Johnstone 5. Ross County 6. Hearts 7. Dundee Utd 8. Motherwell 9. Dundee 10. Kilmarnock 11. Partick Thistle 12.Hamilton Accies

I'd hire him as an anti-mascot, get him rumbling up and down the sidelines on a Harley Davidson waving a big 'Well flag and setting off flares, then have him set fire to a Peter Grant effigy in the centre circle before the start of every game! Would fair get the fans going!

Please put me down for £10, pm sent regards payment. Cheers

Also how many of the goals do we lose 'at his side' where Ainsworth hasn't bothered to track his man back leaving him trying to defend against two players. I agree with some of the sentiment that others have mentioned that the guy is unspectacular but you can't fault Law for effort, he might get caught out of position sometime and make mistakes, but who else in our squad hasn't this season? I'd be quite happy to see him back at Fir Park for next season.

I tend to agree with CoF, I think the post split fixtures have given us a chance, a slim one but a chance nonetheless, of avoiding being in a playoff. Absolutely delighted that we got three home games and all against the stronger/more motivated teams at what I think are the right times to play them if we are to pull off a great escape. The scheduling of Ross County v Partick game was one that I had hoped was going to be in the first weekend of fixtures as I think Partick are probably the most motivated and on form opponent County could face outwith ourselves, they will go to Dingwall knowing that a win would see them pretty much safe. We will still need to do the business against Accies, not an easy task as they'll be up for it after the stomping we dished out on them at Fir Park. The County home game will be a massive game, and hopefully we will be going into it only 3pts behind them. However I think if we haven't caught County by full time on the 2nd of May we wont catch them at all!

I was led to believe that the debts they paid off recently were historic ones from Eddie Thompsons time in charge? Think we are basically singing the same song with a few different lyrics though?

The same way Dundee Utd and other teams have made it work for them? Pilfer promising youngsters from smaller clubs for buttons, tie them down on long term contracts and sell them on for millions. Andrew Robertson, Gary Mackay Steven etc. Agree that we have done some smart business with the likes of the players you mentioned but we have always failed to command a decent fee for any players post Bosman, even Faddy left for buttons when you consider what Birmingham paid for him a couple of years later! Like Les said in the podcast earlier in the month though, we weren't in the position to be demanding large fees, hopefully that will change!
-
Another excellent listen guys! Really interesting to hear Buffs thoughts/insight on the Bosman transfers of Lambert & McKinnon, tend to agree that we have never really recovered from it or adapted to make it work for us! Hopefully we are on the right road with our approach now!

Cannot believe how poor we were on Saturday, only just managed to calm down after watching that utter dross. IMO Dundee were there for the taking, they weren't great either but had one major thing that we didn't have, organisation; they knew the formation they were playing and their jobs in it. From what I seen we basically played with 2 midfielders in Lasley & Grant up against their 3, Johnson was listed as part of a 3 man midfield but was almost always as high up the park as Erwin & Moore, it was a 4-2-4 and it was obvious that it wasn't working after 10-15 mins. Moore got dragged deeper and deeper as the game went on, and when Johnson went off Erwin again ended up playing left wing? We are in danger of completely wasting 2 decent young players by constantly playing them out of position! Our problems on the left wing are there for all to see, I've said it from the beginning of the season, whoever we have played there whether its been Vigurs, Erwin, Johnson, Straker, has always been posted missing and left whoever is playing left back completely exposed. Everyone has jumped on the boy Straker's back after that game, and yes I completely agree he looked totally out of his depth! But I've seen folk jump on Angol's back when he's played there too, with no one in front of him, and Reid, with no one in front of him, and Ferguson, with no one infront of him....anyone else see a pattern there? We desperately need to get someone playing there with a bit of awareness of what they're supposed to be doing! Barraclough made a lot of reference to working on shape in the pre-match interviews, I seen absolutely no evidence of any of that in our midfield or forwards! Sutton was again given a thankless task of leading the line himself, and the long ball game we ended up playing just doesn't suit him or us. I'm seriously hoping that we get the finger out but I'm really struggling to see where we are going to pick up any points, especially playing like that!

From what was said both on here and on Twitter, I think we missed out on Marvin Morgan, who went from Plymouth to Hartlepool on loan and Padraig Amond, a former Irish U21 striker who currently plays with Morecambe, think they never released him because they missed out on whoever their signing target was? What a day to be a Well fan though, kudos to everyone involved in it all at the club, we usually dread losing players in the transfer window but its the first time in a while there has been as much excitement for Well fans! Long may it continue!
-
So would I, but even if we are in the lead at half time there's still a chance of us blowing it! lol
-
Will be interesting to see how the new gaffer approaches this game both in terms of playing personnel and tactics given the game, even at this stage of the season, is a bit of a 6 pointer! Can he afford to experiment with a different shape/players playing at different positions after only a week in the job and working with the players? I think we may just see a similar team to what we've been used to under Black for this game, with him maybe changing it if we go behind and have nothing to lose by going for it! Would love to see us sneak a wee goal late on to win and give us a bit of confidence going into the new year!

Looks like the Argentine Consortium has turned their attention to St Mirren. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30542556 I for one am pretty glad we dodged that particular bullet.
