  1. Tough draw we really want Austria Wien from that lot. Still lets just concentrate on beating Flamuntari first and go from there!
  2. Falkirk dodged a bullet there missing Hamburg!
  3. This thread was kicking about ages ago
  4. Seems their doing it by group so wont be our group for at least another 5 mins I reckon

This is a bit strange to be honest. Ive been in Albania many times and never had a problem once. Why are fans being advised not to travel?
  8. only thing is I would imagine you would be much shorter odds to take over the job than Malpas!!
  9. I think flying from Beijing to Sydney to LA to NYC to Paris and driving from there to see the game and then flying the same way back has to be the longest trip ever taken to see a well game. It was the only way I could go in order to get there and back within the times I wanted. Did the whole trip in a week! Ive never felt so tired after Nancy!!
  10. RIP a true Well Legend
  11. That statement reminded me of the Iraqi information minister Flow mate! In all seriousness though, I would hope that there would at least have been a shortlist drawn up and we're not pinning all our hopes on McGhee to stay, which lets face it, isnt going to happen. Oh and Boyle better not even think about that clown McCall!!
  12. Have a look at Bobby Williamson et al managerial stats and I guarentee you they wont be any better. Its time for Motherwell to take a 'risk' if you could call it that. Personally I think he is the ideal candidate for the job.
  13. Sorry I should have said if Leitch goes with him. Otherwise keep him in place by all accounts he does a good job and he and Nijholt may work well together.
  14. There is nothing wrong with new managers at a club like Motherwell. It was just our luck we got hit with the worst new manager in the history of the world with Malpas. In my opinion Luc Nijholt is the ideal choice as he has been working under a variety of different managers for a number of years, has built up a network of contacts and at the end of the day really wants to manage the club and is a former player as well. If Leitch goes I would also try and get Chris McCart back as assistant manager if he would be interested in the job.
  15. OK his salary may increase but Aberdeen had a few glory years when McGhee was a player but have had no notable success since. Its a sideways move footballing wise and even if he does the same with them as he did with us last year does that mean that Aberdeen are going to have the potential to challenge for the title? Of course not. In my opinion it is most certainly a sideways move, as demonstrated by the calibre of player currently at both clubs, ie exactly the same. For what its worth I would like to see the board be a bit adventurous and go for Luc Nijholt and Chris McCart as his assistant if possible.
  16. Im sorry I know he is a former player for them and all that so fair enough but this is nothing more than a sideways move as far as Im concerned. No more than that.
  17. He was a wate of space. Just a shame we didnt get rid of him last summer. Waste of money by McGhee.
  18. I dont think he'll go to Aberdeen. Hearts I could maybe understand but nowadays Aberdeen are certainly not a bigger team than Motherwell. Their finances alone would suggest that.
  19. Well done to flow and everyone at the club
  20. Thats correct but we entered the first round proper last year after finishing 3rd but even if we had finished 3rd this year we would still have to play an extra qualifying tie as opposed to last year and if we had finished runner up in the Scottish cup we would have had to play two extra ties. To be honest I dont see what the problem is playing extra games against some decent sides where we would hopefully have a chance of going through.
  21. We would always need to play extra qualifying ties now though in the new format, whats the problem?
  22. If any of them even dared complain about it they should be shown the door. They will have two weeks off in the summer like every other person and enjoy it. If they are professional sportsmen it shouldnt even enter their heads. My season nearly always finishes the last week in November and I start my own preseason the 2nd week of December. Usually get about 10 days off so they can lump it in my opinion!!
  23. Thats not what the original post was about though. It was about the commitment of the players leading to where we finish. Because I think most people would agree that if Motherwell's players gave 100% commitment and effort every game then with their natural superior ability to most teams then they would win a lot more than they lose or draw. Defeats to teams like Falkirk, St Mirren and Hamilton due to lack of effort is unacceptable in my opinion - and no-one here can deny that there have been a few of those performances this season. I would much rather see us play fantastic football and smash teams to bits every week but that just isnt going to happen. So the commitment has to be there every game then we can build from there.
