    2016/17 Ins & Outs

For a player who wants away i'm guessing we'll cash out quick as apose to paying a guy a wage who's hearts not in it!! I may be wrong but we'll wait and see.

    2016/17 Ins & Outs

Cue the "undisclosed fee" from a League 1 team being accepted. There's no way we'll get any more than £250k now.
  4. Just watched the full game there on BT, i'm also not so sure about the penalty claim against Heneghan, it was deflected up into his body and wasn't intentional IMO. (Samson should've walked, also imo) On a side note why is Chris Sutton on TV? for a guy who's had a career out the game he struggles with the rules. You could see Michael Stewart and Craigan ready to smack him at the end. He was stood there just repeating himself saying "unnatural position" and definite penalty" as if he'd taken some sort of stroke. Absolute Warmer of a guy.
  5. We should have been out of sight at half time. 6 glorious chances and none taken. 2nd half was a really weak performance, very disappointing. Guys like Ainsworth and Johnson hid and failed to take any responsibility, Chalmers wont do, Hammy is done and sadly I think wee Thomas just flatters to deceive and just isn't strong enough. Plus side on the new guys, I think we have a right back, the boy Tait looks decent, Heneghan looks a bit raw but did ok and McHugh looks ok and will get better. I thought McDonald did well and worked his arse off as did Cadden. We need to get Moult fit otherwise I think we'll struggle for goals, the big 1980s throwback striker we have from Leicester didn't look great but obviously needs time. p1sh poor support, fair play to the fans who made it.
  6. Sevco's pre season has been like an amateur team. I believe they've only played one game. New players like Barton etc seem to be more keen on taking in the golf rather than doing a pre-season so even though we've been poor in our games I still think we'll beat them and beat them comfortable. I have to be honest tho and consider this to be a pre season game rather than a cup match, I cant see this League cup format working....no one is really that ar5ed this early in the season.
  7. It's double denim............but I think it works!! Nice Kit
  8. Law is an amateur player promoted to full time due to Stuart McCall being pally with his father. To be fair to the guy tho he does give his all but is simply not good enough. Ripley is a very promising young keeper who needs games to learn and make mistakes. He made quite a few with us last year but i do think he'll end up a very good goalie at a better level than either Motherwell or Oldham. Erwin........just not sure about the boy. At times i thought he looked excellent and other times awful. Another boy who could get better if he screwed the head but unsure if he'll ever do that due to him being connected to a totally unscrupulous agent who'll have his head turning constantly. All the best to Oldham next year, Robinson might do well. Ive spoken to the guy a few times and i find him a really dour Northern Irish guy but he seems to be well rated. Baraclough could be his assistant and i think he'd be a very good assistant as he's not really a manager, too nice a guy.
  9. Give them 900 tickets just to annoy them, I'm sure those would sell out!! Get a hold of the flag pole assailant of Lee McCulloch to conduct the half time draw as well just to get it right up them.

Bye Ben, enjoy your time at Brighton in the Youth Development squad with the other young Scottish prodigy Jack Harper. Will see you back in Scotland in about 3 years time!!

    2016/17 Ins & Outs

It's annoying to lose good young prospects but i suppose it's a no brainer for him. If he's not getting a sniff of the first team and the youth manager doesnt rate him then moving to a bigger club with better facilities, better players, better opportunity to learn more and the added bonus of being paid the same as one of our higher earners then fair play and good luck to him.

    2016/17 Ins & Outs

I have to agree. If there is a youth player at our club deemed good enough to join a English premier league team on a 3yr deal, I think we need to ask questions as to why he's not been involved around the first team squad and benched in the youth cup final?

    2016/17 Ins & Outs

Really?? The same Robbie Leitch that Craigan says isn't good enough? Makes sense!! Good luck to the lad, annoying to lose them that young tho, hope we get a few bob.

    2016/17 Ins & Outs

Spoke to my mate today who's a Burnley obsessive.....proper obsessive....to the point he takes his family on their annual holiday to Burnley's pre-season tour. Anyway, he's told me they've signed some U21 Scottish Starlet from Motherwell on a 3 yr deal? (I wasn't aware we had one of those?) I thought it must be Hall but there's nothing on the website but he said he's meant to be a midfielder? Cadden???? normally i'd say "aye did they?" but he knows his club inside out!! anyone heard owt?

    2016/17 Ins & Outs

Financially we are nowhere near Hutchison, that will never happen, unfortunately. As for Hall, if he wants to go that's fine, for a young player who has just broken into the first team I would have thought his priority would be to cement his place in the first team for at least a season. For him to be looking for a bigger club / move / money etc at this stage in his career is poor show!! I'd happily get shot. Especially if we get £100k for him. I thought he looked a decent prospect but I thought he looked average in the Youth Final where I would have expected him to be an absolute standout as was Cadden. Big mick / laing / kennedy is fine by me.

    Pre Season?

I obviously know this was downtime, it was purely sarcasm!! As you say the mistake was filming it without showing any of the tougher training in the algarve. I thought the footage from Holland under Baraclough last season was excellent. It showed some of the proper training involved, Power hour / Conditioning etc I found that 100% more interesting than them fann£ing about at footgolf!!

    Pre Season?

I think you underestimate the benefits of a pre-season filled with jogging, trying to hit the bar from corners and footgolf!! Just what you need to get you into shape for a long season!! I’m guessing under McGhee footgolf will be off the itinerary!!

    Pre Season?

Only 5 weeks summer holidays.............those poor boys!!

    2016/17 Ins & Outs

He was a truly appalling goalkeeper. He was like watching Sylvester Stallone in Escape to Victory, except Stallone knew where to stand at a corner kick!!

    2016/17 Ins & Outs

I don't think Samson is that bad either. We did have a successful season a few years ago with Lee Hollis as our number one, a guy who looked like he'd Quantum Leaped into our squad. I'm still in shock a guy who had barely played at any team prior to us became our main goalie for a season then disappeared into thin air. Thinking about it he may have Quantum Leaped into Jake Taylors body last season.
  21. Quality kit, I had the away one. Never been a better white Mothewell kit made, IMO. Also a nice wee pic of a pair of Puma Kings, they might even be the fabled Puma SPA kings looking at them. Sure Andy Walker used to wear them!!
  22. Unprofessional performance by a group of players who couldn't be arsed. They played in flip-flops today. Riid Neck!! end of another rotten season....bring on further misery for 2016/17

    Bob Mc Hugh

Good luck to McHugh but he is not a premier league player. I doubt very much he'll make any major contribution with Falkirk next season but I have to say he looks as if he's lost about a stone in weight since going to Falkirk from when he was with us. Dont know if thats a damning indictment of Motherwell's training regime at the time or McHugh himself........probably both!! As for Lawless, don't rate him either, average player. The only player I can think of that we got shot of at a young age was Neil Lennon.........bullet dodged.
  24. i was talking with regard to Leitch who's started all the games. Leitch highlighted this in his interview afterwards? I'm not saying ruthless in an entirely negative way either, sometimes you have to be harsh with certain players to get the best or more out of them. I don't disagree at all with the team selection as we should be playing our best team. What I was happy with and what I thought I highlighted was the attitude of the boys coming on who wanted to prove a point. It's easy for a boy of 16/17 to be told he's not playing and not good enough, to go into a shell......clearly they didn't......which is good!!
  25. Looks like he's straight out of the Lee Erwin School of Media. Fair play tho he's just a young lad, most come over as morons anyway but if they can play, who cares. Fantastic result and performance from a team of young lads, most of whom will be eligible for this team for another couple of seasons. By all accounts Craigan was pretty ruthless with the young lads who’ve played in most of the games and were benched for the final, basically told them they weren’t good enough!! Lovely to see young Leitch has a bit about him to say “f**k you, I am good enough” when he came on. Also wee Falconer with a great finish for a 16 yr old!! Looks like a really good crop of youngsters, just hope they can make the step up in class over the next couple of years. Things definitely looking bright.
