If we weren't good enough to qualify off our own backs we dont deserve to be in the Europa Cup. Hope County Stuff 'em!! Hate United!!

Alan Irvine (Sheffield Wed) sitting next to Reynolds Dad in the Main Stand last night!! Surely he'd go somewhere at least at Championship Level?
-
i know it was a national final, delighted to get there etc, but it goes down as my most deflating day supporting Motherwell!!! To perform the way we did in a final against an average h*n team was horrendous!! Also we had a squad of young h**s pissed in front of us who the polis wouldn't eject!! terrible day!!

Gannon Sacked! Motherwell Part Company with Manager
mio replied to steelman1991's topic in Club Chat
Really disappointed he's left, i felt he was a breath of fresh air for our club, someone who wasn't afraid to bed in young players, didn't take any crap from the media or referees. And did his own thing when it came to the team....what a proper manager should be like!! i for one wasn't arsed how he supposedly treated established players, most of them weren't that great anyway and their better days were behind them!!(craigan/Lasley/Mcgarry etc etc etc) i think he will become a very good manager and it's a shame we'll not see it at Fir Park. Lets hope the young players aren't affected too much and still get their chance, he's brought in Forbes,McHugh, Hutchy and Slane albeit not often due to his injuries!! i doubt any other manager would've gave them a chance!! i for one wish Gannon all the best, his single minded honest approach was far too much for some people to deal with, especially in our "dont like to rock the boat" country!! -
i cant make it today and i dont have access to sky, does anyone know if you can watch this on the web? I'm sure there's an Al-Queda TV station or something!! Dont know if Bin Laden is commentating tho!! any links or help appreciated!!

Craigan Dropped!!! not even on bench.....Good shout i think!!

Embarrassing stuff!! i think Mcghee was deserved of getting abuse, as someone put earlier, he has acted like a prostitute and mercenary...however paedo and f****n i find an utter disgrace.....if anything f****n is worse to me as it is a chant that belongs on the terraces of Ibrox. I have supported Motherwell all my life along with my father and brothers and i am a catholic as is my son (who is also Motherwell daft) and i detest both Rangers and Celtic!! I believe 90% of our fans are great and support our club exemplary but there is an element of our support that does have the "h*n without the bus fare" tag, which infuriates me!! i myself have also been told that i'm a h*n!! i just laugh it off but with reports of this at aberdeen we are just setting ourselves up to deserve this tag!! i do think year after year this sectarian element is dying out at Fir Park, not quick enough tho in my opinion!! We have started the season off brilliantly and we have a manager who is better in my opinion than McGhee!! Can we not just get behind the team & club and leave the sectarian crap to the old firm!!
-
have to say that song sucks baws!! i dont mind if they play any song when we score even that one, but blasting it out at the start when the players come on to the park is " a rid neck" Get a Stone Roses track.....This is the One......now that'd be the baws!!
-
Hutchinson for me although i did think O'Brien was excellent today as well, tough call!! i've watched Motherwell for nearly 30 yrs and i cant remember seeing such potential in a young defender, i think he could be exceptional!! Hard , good in the air, a good footballer and how many centre halfs do you see finish like today....class act!!
-
i actually played against Roddie a few times when he was at Aberdeen in BP games etc and he was a great young player, he just didn't develop. he was so f*kin fast you would not believe, and a decent crosser and finisher!! its funny how much fans slate players but dont realise that to get to play at that grade and become a professional you have to be talented. Remember it would have been Alex Ferguson who'd have signed him as a boy at Aberdeen.....he must have seen ability in him, and i'm guessing he'll know a tad more about the game than most of us!! anyway.....Roddie WAS shite for us!!
-
This rule was brought in i'm sure due to idiot supporters who take offence at players celebrations, and scream at police to arrest them for inciting trouble!! total bolloks!! same with opposing players shouting at our crowd or giving us the V sign or something, i just find that funny!! i for one am not arsed if opposing teams celebrate, it does p1ss you off but deal with it, if our playeres do it then whats the problem!! PC gone mad
-
You gotta love big Hutchi's Celebration!! thats how you want to see our players carry on after they score......bookings for that are a farce!! Legend in the making!!!
-
A Real class act as a player, he was one of my heros as a kid. i'll never forget the cup game against Aberdeen at fir park when we were in the 1st Division and Aberdeen were one of the best teams in Britain, we got beat 1-0 with a goal scored after 9 seconds and Brian McLaughlin was excellent, but got sent off due to that cheating wee wean Strachan..........i do recall McLaughlin did knock him about 12 foot in the air tho!! RIP Brian, always remembered fondly by Motherwell fans.Legend

its' got to be Davie Hay. Season 81/82 was unbelievable, we pished almost every game!! Great team, brilliant season!!
-
I'm not a huge fan of Quinn either but i can see why bigger clubs were looking at him, i think Quinn has more raw potential than Reynolds (as a defender) as he is naturally quite hard and isn't afraid to dig, that along with his height, the fact he is ok in the air, reasonably fast, i can see him becoming a good defender with proper coaching, as long as he loses the ned in him!! I dont want to get too down on Reynolds cos i think he seems a decent lad, i'm just not sure of him as a player. The fact Gannon hasn't made any great noises about him either is not a good sign, i think if a bid comes in he'll be off!!
-
Looking for honest views on Mark Reynolds!! Now i like the fact he's a local lad, motherwell fan etc etc therefore he'll never really get that hard a time off me.....however, totally contradicting myself here, i think he is possibly the most overrated defender in the country, ok he's athletic, reasonably quick....but he cant tackle, cant head the ball, charges up the park aimlessly continually giving the ball away and is out of position a lot!! and when he plays against "proper forwards" he never shines and looks totally out his depth.(i also thought he was at fault more than Hutchison at the headed goal against Steau) i'm not sure he could even cope as a full back and i doubt if he could be a midfielder.....i cant help think Gannon thinks he's not a central defender either!! Now he keeps mentioning in papers interviews that his goal is to play in the premiership, i cant blame him for that, but i dont think he's anywhere near that standard. i think we bombed when we didnt accept £1m from the h**s for him!! or am i being harsh and talking shite?? i know what loads of you are like so i'm preparing for the "f**k off you're talking shite" ha, but there you go...devil may care!!

All the very best to David,a true gentleman. i hope he enjoys a great career down south as he deserves it. i remember his first game for us and knew he'd have a good future. It stumbled a few times due to managers but you can tell he's came back stronger from it in particular the last couple of years. You've done yourself proud at our club mate and you've done your family and your uncle proud. get down south and get right in amongst it young man.
-
Good luck to him!! he handled himself with dignity and represented the club well after Phil's death. He also got the best out of an average team in his first season. End of the day though, he's been a reluctant manager for us for the past 18 months. He wanted the Scotland Job, The Reading Job, The Celtic job and now the Aberdeen job. Hopefully our next manager will be someone who wants to be our manager, and has no hidden agendas!!
-
i think it's a certainty we'll lose desperate dan to either aberdeen or celtic, therefore who will we get. an old shout but luc nijholt would be welcomed back!!! gawd please not scott leitch.
-
he is and has always been a tosser of the highest order, the ultimate media darling who buys all the tabloids on a daily basis to see whats written about him, then throws a huff if someone writes a bad article about him. yet again this week he speaks to the press about his future....oh sorry a leaked story to the press...yeh right alex!! just incase his side blow it on the final day of the season and he can leave before he gets sacked, siting indifferances between him and his interfering board, so he can leave to get another half decent job as people still think his stock is high!! he did make a muck of things at motherwell and left us in a complete mess even though he spent a fortune on sub standard players. ive spoken to a couple of ex motherwell players who were there during mcleish's time and they also think of him as a twat!! anyway i'll not reserve judgement on him at all, he's a cock and an extremely fortunate one at that!! ps, dont get me started on his stuttering imbecile of a sidekick...andy watson!!

Article in the sun today with Mcghee telling us Motherwell supporters that we are watching the best football played at Fir Park in 40 years!! where the f*k does this guy get the neck(even though he doen't have one) to suggest this, forgive me but really, i doubt Mr McGhee has ever been interested in watching Motherwell play prior to him taking over as manager, and even since taking over, his talking tends to concern blowing smoke up celtics arse rather than concentrating on his job at hand!! ok we got to Europe last season, but really this year i feel has been horrific, i've rarely enjoyed a game, we have too many players who think they are better than they are and no individual players that could light up a game!! i watched many a better motherwell team in the 70s and even under wee tommy there were a few good years, especially cup final season when we played some great stuff, how i'd long to see someone talented at our club again the likes of davie cooper. Also even the team that narrowly got beat to Dortmund was an excellent side, much better than the dross that played on saturday!! also there have been individuals since that have been a pleasure to watch such as McFadden. Our present team joined could not match his ability. McGhee in my opinion has brought one thing to the club, and thats fitness, nothing else!! and to tell me that this is the best in 40 years is a disgrace and a discredit to some great teams of the past.
