Definitely Omar Daley... Fits the 'someone to come off the bench who would offer something a bit different to the team' bill just nicely and not 'Omar analizes British Housewives Volume 17 and a half' but, he can if he wants.

From Omar Daley Wiki "He has also divided opinion among fans, some of whom are disappointed by his work rate or expect too much magic" sounds like the Humph mark 2 :whistling:

McCall on the website:

McCall and Kenny Black are in the process of scouring the English leagues and other sources for potential loan players; specifically a versatile defender and a utility attacker.

He continued: "We'll look new signings next week. We're still looking for a defender that can play at right-back or in the centre because we only have Tom Hateley and young Nicky Devlin isn't quite ready.

"We really need players that can play in a couple of positions because we can't get the number of bodies in with our budget.

"I'd like to bring in a wide man too – that can play up front and score twenty goals for 200 quid a week! We've watched a couple of games. There's nothing definite but we've looked at a few centre-halves. It will be from the loan market."

Sounds like he's trying to bring in a winger/striker (Daley fits the bill) and trying to find a defender in the loan market.

Is their any money for an actual signing as now it seems all the talk is of loan signings only?

Don't have a problem with loan players as long as they strengthen the squad but what happened to the money we supposedly had to sign a player? Bit worrying when we have a pretty good money making season and the budget still gets cut to the extent that money we had for a signing has been taken off the table.

Just as an aside to loanees did i hear right that the English teams have to cut their playing squad to 25 but only on the last day of the transfer window? What chance do the cut players have of finding a club when they only find out they are cut right before the window closes.

When was it announced we had 'money for a player'. When you have clubs in England paying 5 or 6 figure sums for loans we're lucky to even be in that market.

As for the squads, most would probably (all?) have named their provisional squad but it makes sense (just like Spain, Portugal) to allow them till the end of the window.

Also the Football League can still sign players.
