MelvinBragg
"Maybe not a direct replacement, but we can certainly invest some of the wages we will save on Chris to bring in a loan player and we want to do that quickly." Sounds like none of the transfer fee will be used to bring in permanent signings then. Bit disappointing, if not surprising...
fat_tony
Now there's a load of posts on the Cardiff boards that the Bluebirds have backed out of a deal for Porter. Who knows what the hell is going on!? Cardiff Boards

Welldaft Mk1
"Cardiff City's bid to sign Motherwell striker Chris Porter has been on hold until after the weekend". Better not be too long after the weekend - the transfer window closes on Monday!
Nijholt91
"Cardiff City's bid to sign Motherwell striker Chris Porter has been on hold until after the weekend". Better not be too long after the weekend - the transfer window closes on Monday! Plus we apparently have a game on Monday!
Suprawell
Hello, Heard that Ports isn't too enamored with the terms from Carduff. Don't see this happening, pity...
Well Up For It!
Just had a lok at the Cradiff boards...the seem to reckon its all some sort of conspiracy/sly tatcti/diversion to sign someone else!! Or am I reading that wrong? Well way I see it we are in a win-win situation. Deal doesn't happen we have his goals - deal does we have good money. Wonder if reported Derby bid is same fee as Cardiff? GazzyB
Told you so. Chrissy Porter, 4 year deal.
Gaag
maybe GazzyB is spot on with his prediction
Wellfan1984
If GazzyB is right, he won't have to buy a beer every again!
gav212
The Cardiff fans seem to think Ross McCormack is a better player which is a lot of pish i think. And if Porter were to sign a four year deal the now id actually whap it out right here and have a bash.
'WellMagic!
Best forward at Fir Park in years. Cheers for the goals that fired us to Europe Chris, Good Luck.
DEWELL
I wish him all the best and it's decent money. Cant see him playing on saturday now mind you im afraid we've seen the last of him in Claret and Amber. Just hope John Sutton can step up to the plate as he's been poor recently and we put some money together to get what we REALLY need and that's a centre half to play alongside Craigan. . weeyin
To be fair to Sutton, the whole team was poor for a while there. Hopefully, now we are creating more opportunities, he can pick up where he left off at the start of the season.
Juan Kerse
Aye, to be fair I don't think he has done much wrong when he has got a game. Decent touch and very good finish (See goal against celtic). Just the man to step in imo.
Special aka
Yeah, we can't say no to that kind of money. Best of luck to you Chris Porter and mega thanks for the near heart-attack celebrating your cup-tie equaliser at Swynecastle last Jan For that goal alone
Kmac
From what Ive just been told (Sorry if this is on another thread), Derby and Notts Forest have stepped up their interest as the deal with cardiff has broken down
TvTotherwell
Am i the only one who would rather he stays ? i really cant see where that amount of goals are goin to come from ? Clarky has the shootin boots on again but can't see him being as prolific as Ports!
Chris
Although it's great money considering he's out of contract in the summer, I'd rather he stayed. I'd use the money we'd get from the transfer and spend it on a contract for Porter rather than searching for a replacement. He's worth at least one higher position in the league. Realistically I know we won't hold onto him in the long term though.
Sarah
Good luck to him if he does go. Been fantastic for us and great to see him moving on to where he wants to be. Thanks for everything Ports!!!
El Grew
I'd be sad to see him go. In the short time he's been here, he has made a real difference to us and always put 100% into his performances and never hides. A big genuine, honest and very dignified. I wish him all the very best where ever he goes. Think its more likely to be Derby or Nottingham Forest though - I think someone posted on here previously that his girlfriend is at university in Nottingham so that could be a big factor in his thinking. rinkydink
Andy Devlin's saying his agent has suggested he stays put til the end of his deal with us. McGhee's trying to convince him otherwise... Cardiff is best Port of call
