MJC_MKI
I can't believe the amount of posts in the Rangers thread saying 'aw that's given the Celtic fans ammunition to say we lie down to Rangers, no wonder they think we're h u n s without the busfare, what would they be thinking about if we needed Rangers to win the league' Well, so what if they think that? So fucking what? Why do so many Motherwell fans give two fucks what Celtic fans think, want or expect? Surely to Christ we've got more important things to worry about just now, like yesterday's awful display from OUR point of view and no one else's, or the fact that we've got a Cup Final less than three weeks away? Celtic fans think the fucking world is against them because they like to feel 'under siege' in their own cretinous wee world so fuck them. Us losing 5-0 at home to Rangers gives us much more cause for concern than what those backward looking, shit stiring mutants think.
something else
I actually enjoy winding the inbred fuckers up by tellin them we lie down to Rangers, just to get a reaction out the c***s.
weeyin
Probably because it means we have been rolled over again for 4 or 5 goals with another feeble effort. It's not directly what Celtic fans think, it's how pathetic (and 'pathetic' is no exaggeration) our record against Rangers has been these past 10 years or so that annoys many fans. Agree with both these posts - I couldn't give a monkeys what either of the Bigot Bros thought about us, cause no matter if one of them beats us one nil, 3 or 6 nil, we'll still be accused by many of them of lying down to favour their bigot twin. Can't explain why over the years, but I've always thought that our record against the Buns is poor, whereas aginst the Smellys, I generally believe we can get something from the game - and as Weeyin points out, that's the only frustration that gets to me, why the Buns, even when they're poor, seemed to grind out results against us. Way too concerned about my own wee club, to give the Bigots a second thought MON RA DOSSERS

AllyMax
Here's my theory for what it's worth. The Tims tend to be a footballing side and so do we so we have close games and the odd win. The h**s tend to be a big physical side and we ALWAYS cave in against physical teams. The one exception to this is when McGingerbaws was in charge of us (towards the end of his reign) and we basically had no football in our team. We did relatively well against them at that point. Anyway, couldn't give a fuck what either the tims or the h**s think of us, but it makes little bits of vomit rise in my throat when I see us rolling over to the h**s the way we have been this season. steelboy
we're definitely better suited to playing celtic than rangers these days. celtic tend to be a bit more patient in their build up and we have time to get bodies behind the ball. thinking back to the goals we've lost to rangers this season most of them have happened when we've lost the ball in their half and they've went right up the park and scored, we've been murder at picking davis, naismith and weiss's runs from midfield. you also need to look at the formations we've been playing. we've played 4-5-1 in the three games against celtic and kept it tight and the same thing happened in the cis against rangers. in the two rangers games at fir park and the first one at ibrox we weren't far off playing a 4-4-2. there has also been a common theme that we start ok but as the game wears on and our midfield tires and being out numbered really starts to count against us. we must play 4-5-1 with hateley holding in the final against celtic. i had my suspicisions about foran on skippy sunday, mcghee's strange team selections and tactics against the old firm near the end of 07/08 and gannon in the game meechan and mchugh started. for me questions were raised about mccall yesterday. letting jones play the 90 = not giving a fuck how many goals we lost. TvTotherwell
Didn't read any of the reply's however. . . . we get hit with the " rangers fans who can't afford the bus fare to ibrox all the time . . . . . . i live closer to ibrox than fir park. . . . .and two minutes from park head. I'm a well fan cause i want to be, my parents and almost entire family are Celtic fans! SMc is an ex rangers player and no doubt a rangers fan. i got inundated with texts during yesterdays game giving it typical . . . .ex "h*n" as a manager. u can't knock the guy for supporting a team he played for, for so long and also winning so much. u can be guaranteed the guys are gutted for loosing yesterday as it would have definitely sealed our European place for next year, its now outa our hands " unless we win the cup" ( not feelin so confident after yesterday! ) old firm fans are narrow minded and cynical and more to the point ! Celtic fans are " paranoid " that everyone in Scottish football is against them. the fact we havn't beat rangers in god knows how long means nuthing,
MJC_MKI
but have to say our record against Rangers is appalling and yesteday was an embarressment. It was but what the Celtic fans or anyone else thinks about that is of absolutely no relevance to us. I really think some of our fans need to 'man up' sometimes as I am absolutely sick hearing Motherwell fans saying "oh we got humped off Rangers, what'll the Celtic fans think of us now?" Listen fuck Celtic, fuck their fans and fuck their opinions. The only purpose Celtic fans should serve to Motherwell fans is as things to be either abused, mocked or laughed at. numpty
In the Herald today: http://www.heraldscotland.com/blogs/stramash/michael-grant-on-monday-eddie-turnbull-1.1098911 WHATEVER Stuart McCall, found out about his players from that woeful 5-0 rout by Rangers, he certainly learned something about himself. It seems he isn’t the manager of Motherwell after all. Or, worse still, he’s in the job but not completely committed to it. First and foremost he is “a Rangers man” who wouldn’t have lost any sleep on Saturday night about the team he picks going down so tamely on its own turf. This must be true, because internet messageboards, Twitter, Facebook and guys phoning radio stations said so. We’ve not heard the last of this. Prepare for a fortnight of it. There aren’t Hearts, Dundee United, Kilmarnock and Motherwell managers and players now, just “Rangers men”, “Celtic men” or those who will lean one way or another when push comes to shove. Apparently we have a league full of people as interested in helping one of the Glasgow pair win the championship as they are in serving the club which pays their wages. So Celtic are about to play “Terry Butcher’s Caley Thistle” on Wednesday. Everyone knows what that means, eh? Big Tel, Rangers through-and-through, desperate to do his old club a favour by throwing a spanner in the works and knackering things for Neil Lennon. All of a sudden a Caley Thistle team beaten by Aberdeen at the weekend will be flying into tackles against Celtic as if their lives depended on it. This will “prove” that Butcher will have them fired-up. How dare he? What a yawn it all is. It seems we haven’t grown up since the Chris Sutton story. Sutton famously ran off at the mouth back in 2003 when Celtic lost out on the league title to Rangers on the final day. Celtic won 4-0 at Kilmarnock that afternoon – all clean and above board, of course – but because Rangers’ winning margin against Dunfermline was greater by a single goal – 6-1 – Sutton accused the Fifers of deliberately letting them win. “We knew they would lie down,” he said when a microphone was thrust under his mouth within minutes of full-time. He claimed everyone knew that Dunfermline, managed by Govan-born “Rangers man” Jimmy Calderwood at the time, wouldn’t put up much resistance at Ibrox. Sutton was hurt and frustrated that a glorious season for Celtic had ended without a trophy and, frankly, he wasn’t in control of his thoughts let alone his words as he was interviewed in the heat of the moment. Before that weekend was out Sutton – as intelligent a player as Scottish football has had the privilege of enjoying in the last decade – had apologised to Dunfermline. He crossed the line by questioning the commitment of fellow professionals, not to mention making the pretty groundless assumption that there would be Rangers supporters in their team but no Celtic ones. If it “suited” McCall to lie down to Rangers on Saturday then what sort of mental gymnastics will he have to go through when he faces Celtic on the final day? Motherwell go to Parkhead in their last match of the season, which may well be the day on which the title is decided. If Celtic win the league Motherwell will be in Europe next season regardless of how they do in the Scottish Cup final. McCall will be quite within his rights to rest key men that day to preserve them for the cup final one week later; but imagine the uproar from “his” Rangers if he does. If Celtic win the league on goal difference how long will we have to wait until November 6 is brought up by Rangers supporters. That was the day when Celtic put nine unanswered goals past a team managed by a Celtic supporter. Mark McGhee was utterly mortified by that result, which accelerated him towards the sack as manager of Aberdeen. That won’t be mentioned on messageboards and Twitter though. Some Rangers supporters will be happy to insist that it suited him perfectly well because he had helped “his team”. SPL clubs are liberally sprinkled with players who support Rangers or Celtic. St Mirren’s Jamie McCluskey was caught out as cameras showed him leaping to celebrate a Gary Hooper goal in the derby; apparently he exaggerated it to wind-up Rangers-supporting team-mates. McCall, Butcher, Derek McInnes and even Craig Brown, going way back, were on Rangers’ books during their playing careers and now pick teams to try and beat them. Need proof? Butcher took four points off Rangers in the league this season before Celtic managed to take even one. None of that matters to the more excitable Old Firm fans. Such is their obsession that one thing hasn’t occurred to them: there are plenty, rival managers and players included, who care as much about the winner of the SPL title as they do about the outcome of the Boat Race.
