LadywellToi
With the new fixture listing being unveiled next Friday (17th) I thought it be interesting to see what people presume we'll end up with and what fate deals us. I think it will be a definite away clash as we were home against Hibs last season, probably another top 6 team, can see it being Ibrox if I'm honest and watching them unveil the flag. Love to be home against Aberdeen and give Brown a doing in the sun, then all 2,000 owners of the club can line up to tell him exactly what they think of him at the final whistle now Boyle set the precedent. Cakes
Just a reminder before the thread progresses - when the fixture list is released, please do not post it (in part or in full) on the forum. As we all know, the fixture list is copyright material and this is actively enforced by the suits. Like every year, posts will be edited or removed if necessary to avoid any possible action against the site.
Cakes
Away to Dunfermline for their flag raising party. Then we'll waste it by scudding them.
superwell87
Dunfermline Away, but we will probably end up with Celtic away.

East_Stand_Al
dont think we can play celtic away or rangers at home! Why not ? In theory we can be drawn against any team in the league at home or away, or am I missing something ?
Wellfan1984
We shouldn't be able to play Celtic away, as Rangers have to be at home the first week to "raise the flag". I am more interested to see what the do for week 2 as Celtic have a friendly scheduled and Dunfermline are in the League Cup first round. Not to mention week three as Rangers and Hibs have a friendly scheduled that weekend. Anyway think we will get Hibs at home, no reason why or why not though. TigerWoodsMFC
If we got Castle Greyskull on the opening day they would still only give us 400 odd tickets even though we could potentially bring more. I'd like to see Celtic at home or Hearts/Hibs away if I'm being honest
Kmcalpin
Rangers away or Dunfermline away. Personally I'd love to avoid the Pars on day one. A real banana skin.
MJC_MKI
Why not ? In theory we can be drawn against any team in the league at home or away, or am I missing something ? We won't be away against Celtic or at home to Rangers on the opening day because the league champions always begin the next season at home to unfurl the flag. As Rangers are the current champions, they will be playing at home and so therefore Celtic will be away on the opening weekend. I reckon we'll either be going to Ibrox or Pittodrie on day one. Yabba's Turd
We could be away to Celtic on Saturday and Rangers play at home on the Sunday
MJC_MKI
We could be away to Celtic on Saturday and Rangers play at home on the Sunday Nah that would be too complicated for the SPL's 'computers'. They both can't be at home on the same weekend, it never happens.
TigerWoodsMFC
What makes you think that? We usually do well to take 400 to Ibrox. Just because its the opening day fixture and more folk usually turn out for it
LadywellToi
Removed Rangers at FP on opening day as that was an oversight on my part (and you could argue Celtic away is also a long shot) but as we've learned, common sense and logic don't really go hand in hand with the SPL. Yir Elder
Whoever we are paired with in the opening three rounds of next season's SPL, I predict we'll have at least one of those week's off due to friendlies being arranged, as is our luck. Surely there is scope for the SPL to take the glamour friendlies into account when they are working out the first few weeks fixtures? Treat it like an SPL over a Scottish Cup 6th round weekend, tie up teams who are at a loose end. I'd like to think that with us starting 2-3 weeks earlier than normal, a team committed to the league they play in won't end up with only one game under their belt. Of course there is scope for there to be an odd number of teams playing friendlies and consequently one SPL team will be stilling twiddling its thumbs through no fault of their own.
