David
Motherwell FC are today mourning the death of vice-chairman Bill Dickie, who sadly passed away last night. Dickie, a former President of the Scottish Football Association (SFA) and former Chairman of Motherwell Football Club between 2003 and 2008, was one the longest serving directors in Scottish football with over 30 years of service. He was also a renowned architect and operated from his business on Hamilton Road, just minutes from Fir Park. Commenting, Chief Executive Leeann Dempster said, “Everyone is absolutely devastated by Bill’s sudden passing. “He was one of those characters that was so bright and bubbly; it has come as a great shock to everyone at Fir Park. “Indeed, just last Saturday he was in and around the club for the Scottish Cup clash with Queen’s Park being his usual self. He was being very positive about the team and the future of the club in his own unique style. “It goes without saying that we would like to pass on our deepest condolences to Bill’s family and close friends at this very sad time.” Motherwell Football Club will host a tribute to Bill at Saturday’s SPL clash with Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Fir Park. Sad stuff. Thoughts are with his family.

Toxteth O'Grady
Can't believe this. We'd hired him to be the architect for our house extension, and so have had a fair bit of contact with him recently. He seemed in perfect health. A sad, sad loss. Andy_P
Really sorry to hear this. Bill has been around the club for as long as I can remember. It'll be difficult to imagine him not being there. I can't say I've had a lot of dealings with him personall, but the last seems in keeping with many of the comments already posted. Arriving early at St Mirren earlier in the season with the Brazilian and his nephew Ross, Bill saw the claret and amber colours and took time to ask Ross how he was, how he thought the game would go and offer him a complimentary for the game. Alas we had only just returned from the ticket office but so he had to politely decline but Ross was well taken when he discovered the vice-chairman of MFC had just offered him a ticket. Yir Elder
Very sad to hear of Bill's passing this morning. he was as MJC correctly pointed out 'Mr Motherwell' and no-one could ever doubt his commitment or feelings towards the club. His service to the club over 30 years was huge, much like his influence. He will be sadly missed. RIP Bill.
