Noah Dosser
Heard Stuart Cosgrove on Saturday say that Sandaza was offered £1300 a week to resign for St J for this season only to sign for Sevco for £13000 a week. Seriously silly, stupid money Do you honestly believe what that rocket spouts ?
steelboy
We tried to extend his loan when he went to Aberdeen, I believe he was quoted as saying shortly before this: "If I do return to Scotland, it will be to Motherwell" i doubt blackman had any say in where he ended up. it would be down to who could pay the most and the fact that brown and knox had links to blackburn. also there is no way sandaza is on £13,000 a week. weeyin
i doubt blackman had any say in where he ended up.. Which is why it was a stupid thing for him to say.
Dr.Pepper
Just seen on sky sports news McFadden has rejected a short term deal at the club.
Welldaft Mk1
Disappointing, but not entirely unexpected. I wonder if he will continue to train with us?? As long as he does not end up at Hearts, Hibs, Utd or Aberdeen.....that would p1ss me off. Good luck to him and hope he gets his career back on track soon. steelboy
Which is why it was a stupid thing for him to say. i spoke to him once, a nice guy but clearly not the brightest chap. he's a good player though and i think he'll have a decent career. he knows where the goals are and he's strong and fast, best of luck to him. StipeIsGod
Right. Gutted, but fine. Now we can move onto finding someone to fill that central midfield spot. (Or, of course, sign another young right back... )
Well 4 Europe
What McCall said "I spoke to James on Friday and we had a good football chat, it was open," the boss said. "Since then James has spoken to people who are a lot higher than I am at Motherwell who deal with the purse strings and I don't think the outcome was favourable. "He was back in training today but I don't think the money side of it quite added up."
another number
One of the stv journalists on twitter says Paul McGinn is only with us to recover from injury
Spiderpig
You would think that McFadden would be keen to get back playing competetive football again..and get himself in the shop window. Any offer he gets is better than the one he currently has ie Feck All, but he is obviously chasing the Cash... its dissapointing.
Haggischomper
I've gone all floppy :-(
GazzyB
offer he gets is better than the one he currently has ie Feck All How do you know that though? My guess is that he will have a few teams interested in him down south, and it'll only be a couple of weeks until he has a Championship side. TvTotherwell
How do you know that though? My guess is that he will have a few teams interested in him down south, and it'll only be a couple of weeks until he has a Championship side. What ever the reason, its looking like "yeh I'll train with yous but am too good to play for yous" he needs to make a decision soon before the Faddy bashing starts. I'm a bit upset that he couldn't do a turn from the team who have been doing him a turn since the start of pre season. *this is not Faddy bashing*
mightywellscott
he surely would have had a club by now, therefore my guess is they want to see him play and that aint happening just now, so back to square one, unless someone takes a chance on him. Plenty of English clubs with money to spare, he will end up in Championship, which is a shame for us, but hey ho lets move on . .
Jay
What ever the reason, its looking like "yeh I'll train with yous but am too good to play for yous" he needs to make a decision soon before the Faddy bashing starts. What decision has he to make soon? As far as he's concerned, he's training with us. If we offer him something, he'll either accept or reject it. It's hardly as though he's been in the media talking about how he might sign for us.
MJC_MKI
Aww so Faddy's not coming home afterall then? I am surprised... and there was me just starting to get excited too
Motherwell89
my guess is the clubs contract wouldn't be acceptable because they would have wanted to tie him down to long or wouldn't agree to a release-clause or something
Welldaft Mk1
I imagine the most we could ever consider offering would be circa £2k per week. For someone who was on 10 times that - it is a hell of a climb down. Sure he has no club at the moment, but I reckon he could get £5k+ per week down south and will wait to see if that transpires. He will turn out for us again one day, but sadly it will be when his best days are behind him PS - I hope he is paying for his "free" player meals at lunchtime after training
MJC_MKI
my guess is the clubs contract wouldn't be acceptable because they would have wanted to tie him down to long or would agree to a release-clause or something Or maybe because they wouldn't have been able to get anywhere near to matching his demands in terms of salary, appearance/win/goal bonus and so on.... Guest
my guess is the clubs contract wouldn't be acceptable because they would have wanted to tie him down to long or wouldn't agree to a release-clause or something My guess is that he is being offered at least double whatever we can elsewhere. Motherwell89
going around twitter now they offered him 6 months, being to greedy imo 4 or even 2 would have been more acceptable for him I bet!
steelboy
going around twitter now they offered him 6 months, being to greedy imo 4 or even 2 would have been more acceptable for him I bet! if you sign for two months you still can't sign for anyone else until january. Motherwell89
even if you have no contract to tie you to another club?
GazzyB
If you are released after the last day of the summer transfer window, you cannot sign for anyone until January 1st. If he signed for 2 months, he'd be released mid October with no club able to sign him til January 1st.
Motherwell89
so then a 6 month contract would take him past the end of January and then he would't be able to sign with anyone till the next again season?
