Celtic will enter at the same stage, but in the Champions path. So, if there is any TV deal, then they'd be heading to Parkhead and not to Fir Park. The TV deal is a one off for each round prior to the Group Stages, so it would be upto BBC Scotland or Sky to agree a deal with whichever clubs to broadcast that particular round.

As for the Europa, I think the Nancy home/away ties were the only ties ever to be shown on UK TV.

I've been excited since Marty was getting the Champions League theme played in Daniels (sometimes twice in a row...) after home games way back in about October... laugh.gif

from a personal financial point of view - im hoping Holland, absolutely no doubt

Portugal & Turkey will be summer holiday time, so cant see many cheap flights

Moscow is fecking miles away

Ukraine (Kiev) is a fcuking horrible place that I would never take my kids too and its an absolute disgrace they are being allowed to host the Euros

So Holland it is!!!!!! Unless Chelsea win the Champions League and throw all the co-efficients out the window!!!

According to Wiki

If Chelsea win and finish fourth in league

The third-placed team of association 6 (Portugal) and the runners-up of association 7 (Russia) are promoted from the third qualifying round to the play-off round.

If Chelsea win and finish outside top four in league

Because of the restriction that no association can have more than four teams playing in the Champions League, the fourth-placed team of the 2011–12 Premier League, which would have entered in the 2012–13 Champions League play-off round, will be moved to the 2012–13 UEFA Europa League. In this case, the allocation system for the Champions League will be changed in the same way as above.

None. Only Russia and Portugal are removed

so if they are removed, there will be 8 teams in that section rather than 10 - meaning there will be 4 games rather than 5

So from the initial list of 5 (Russia, Portugal. Turkey, Holland, Ukraine) - Turkey, Holland, Ukraine will remain and one of the previous non seeds, moves into the seeded section????

Any idea what country that will be?!?!?!?!?

But who replaces them?Must be someone

No one. Scotland is the last position in the Co-Eff for a runner-up spot. All nations below us receive only a Champions Place. The only movement will be if Chelsea end third and win it or Bayern win it. And only then it will be in the Champions path.

Instead of five ties being played in 3rd round, there will be 4. We will still be the worst ranked side in there though.

Seeded place goes by clubs rather than nation. Steelboy summed it up best with it likely to be Club Brugge (Belgium) or likely PAO (Greece).

General consensus is that Belgium are the country on the cut-off point between Seeds and Non-Seeds.

So, if it is any Nation then it most likely them and probably Club Brugge.

i wasted an afternoon at work yesterday looking into it in a bit more detail.

at the moment russia, portugal, ukraine, turkey, holland, greece, belgium and romania are all still possible for us.

russia - there are 3 games to go and dinamo moscow are in 2nd with cska, spartak, lokomotiv and anzi all within 4 points. it would suit for dinamo or anzi to get the spot as they would both definitely be unseeded. spartak and cska are both guaranteed seeds if they get it. lokomotiv are borderline.

portugal - braga look set to finish 3rd. they'll be seeded as would sporting or benfica should there be a shock.

ukraine - looks like dinamo kiev unless shaktar bottle it. both seeds anyway.

turkey - fenerbahce. probably seeds.

holland - feyenoord are faves with 2 games to go although they have a difficult game against hevereern on the final day. feyenoord won't be seeded but if psv or az pip them they would be.

greece - panathanikos have a 4 point head start in a champions league style mini group with aek, paok and some other mob we can't play. pana would be seeded. aek and paok could be but probably won't be.

belgium - brugges look favourites and have a good chance of being seeds if they qualify which would be our ideal tie imo. racing genk are long shots for a seed if they get in.

romania - there still five teams in it but steaua and cluj are the only two we would be slightly likely to draw. hopefully rapid or dinamo get 2nd as they can't be seeded and going to bucharest again would be a let down.

if everything finished as it is today these would be the seeds.

bayern win - braga, kiev, fenerbahce, panathanikos and brugges.

chelsea win - kiev, fenerbache, panathanikos and brugges.

obviously a lot can happen in the next couple of weeks but we are looking for psv or az to overtake feyenoord for a trip to holland, brugges to qualify so hopefully belguim is a possibility, panathanikos to fuck up which would greatly increase the chances of getting brugges and dinamo moscow to get the place in russia to rule out going there.

my best case scenario would be: braga, kiev, fenerbahce, psv and brugges. a 60% chance of dodging eastern europe.
