Special aka
I heard you were leaving at 08:45 ........... you might just make it for the 2nd half. The reason I'm going by train. Had it not been a duble decker bus I'd have suggested coming off the A9 at Raigmore and taking the old road thru Beauly.
Haggischomper
Kessock Bridge is playing havoc with my auld man travelling to Raigmore for treatment. Bring back the ferry!!
Special aka
Aye, that report is missleading. Traffic volumes are down with the school hols, but plenty folks from the Black Isle and beyond reporting grim delays. Heading north, the last stretch of the A9 before the bridge is bad enough on a normal Saturday. With traffic from the south side of town merging with A9 northbound and A96 traffic then that from the north of town all contesting for 1 lane over the bridge. Can see the itinerary getting changed from the annual shop lifting spree in Aviemore
Special aka
For those heading up by train, and struggling to get back to Sneckie for their train back south - might be worthwhile pooling together for taxis back to Inverness. Tweed
I'm staying with my mate in Culloden and he texted me tonight and said off peak the Kessock is not causing too much of an issue but warned me that they are strictly enforcing both the speed limit and the bus.taxi lane rules. Special aka
I cant believe Scotrail haven't changed their timetable to accommodate football fans heading back to Inverness for last trains
fat_tony
Aye, just had a look. Staying with the folks in Forres this weekend and the first train back after the game isn't until after 7. Looks like it's going to have to be the car. The weekend and not the bus can only go the one way - Hilarity, Dingwall, Hilarity, Spare room or back at my maws
