steelboy
1361408401[/url]' post='374775']If a measure of a players ability is down to goals and nothing else then I'm assuming you have completely u-turned on your opinion of Higdon then? I'm happy enough with higdon at the moment. You have games like Tuesday and killie when he'd be as well sitting in the stand with a pie but when he is getting chances he is putting them away. We'll see what he does in the next three games, grant Munro has owned him in the two games so far, he has been rubbish in every game against the old firm and he hasn't kicked a ball in the two games against hearts this season. We badly need a second goal threat but McCall looks like he is planning to waste Faddy out wide the same way he did with murphy.

Faddy scored 24 goals in the 201 league appearances since he left. I think we need his creativity more than his goal tally. However, I don't think anyone but you would base McCall's tactics one one substitute appearance of a guy that's not even match fit.
wellfan09
Law is shocking at times defensively. When we're not in possession, he strolls backwards, away from his man. He's making no effort to close down space, prevent a cross, or challenge to win the ball. He's essentially trying to avoid getting near the man to have to tackle, which would be fine if he blocked a run/pass, but he does nothing. When the ball is in opposition possession on the opposite side, he meanders around aimlessly. to be fair to law he is an attacking mf and the only reason he is playing where he is this season is because jenno left

You know McCalls plans based on 17 minutes of game time? Your football knowledge and analysis skills really are wasted on the internet. So what if Higdon hasn't scored in certain games. He is still joint top scorer and we are second in the SPL. See by the end of the season and lets say we finish 2nd and Higdon gets 25 goals (more than any other Motherwell player for years) and also McFadden and Ojamma end the season with 5 goals between them, but have assists well into the double figures - would you then say that all these players have been a total waste or a failure? Also Murphy wasn't wasted on the wing. He left us in January with 12 goals - he too could have gone on to score over 20 in the one season. steelboy
murphy scored 9 of his goals playing through the middle even though he spent the majority of time on the left
Stu
Steelboy's looking to take MJC's place as the 'star villain' of the forums. He's really raised his game this week. (Raised game = desperate attempts at getting a reaction by even criticising Randolph, as well as players like Higdon and Ojamaa).
underboyleheating
Forced myself to watch the highlights and we were poorer than I thought. We made United look like a top European side who looked as if they could score at will. Almost certainly one of our worst performances of the season. Roll on Ross County.
