Bop
There isn't a planned boycott, just a few of the usual group that would be there who now won't. No one feels like we absolutely need to have a drum, its there to keep a bit of structure to the singing but people are completely fed up of their efforts to improve the atmosphere a bit being shot down at a time when every club should be doing everything they can to get punters through the door. Its not solely about being allowed to take a drum, its yet another mental decision from a Scottish football club to dissuade fans from attending.
Al B
Clubs would love better general atmosphere at games. In fact the only thing they want more....is points. And if making the visiting support less effective helps them get that, then that's what they will try. It's no different from Craig Brown insisting the visiting fans got punted in the top tier....yes, even we hated it because the overall atmosphere was less, but was there a single visiting support that managed to influence their side from up there? Not that I can think of. They are banning the drum in the hope that it limits the influence the visiting support can have on the game. They will be rubbing their hands together if half of us don't turn up. No drum might be quieter....but it's not half as quiet as no people. numpty
people are completely fed up of their efforts to improve the atmosphere a bit being shot down at a time when every club should be doing everything they can to get punters through the door. Of course, you could argue that if 5 'Well fans don't turn up because they're not allowed a drum, and 6 Hibs fans only turn up because they know they won't be annoyed by a drum, then they've succeeded in doing that... Dee
It's quite simple for me. If a pub was charging £8 for a pint & wouldn't let you wear the clothes you feel comfortable wearing then you wouldn't go to that pub. Football clubs take advantage of fans emotional attachment & won't change unless hit where it hurts which in the current climate is in gate receipts. There was a successful boycott of tannadice last season which seen DUFC lose £1000s in gate receipts. This season they were excellent hosts & let Well fans bring their drum, stand, sing & enjoy the game in the manner in which they wanted. It's about time fans stood for change. We are very fortunate that our club have a very healthy relationship with their supporters & are active in promoting a better match day experience for all. We shouldn't let other clubs take our money for granted.

Its nothing to do with trying to limit the away fans influence..its about some high viz vest wearing jobsworth fuckwit full of their own self importance pandering to complaints about too much noise at a football ground ffs...no wonder the beautiful game in this country is in the state its in. Haggischomper
Did they ban bagpipes?
Mad Dog
A Hibs spokesperson said: "In general, we don't ban drums at Easter Road - unlike many other stadiums. However, most fans that bring drums bring bass drums - this one is a snare drum which is much more intrusive. "At the last match against Motherwell at Easter Road - when the snare drum was used - we received numerous complaints, both from Hibernian and Motherwell fans. That is the reason the decision has been taken." It's just getting silly now, only certain types of drum are allowed....
Steve Diggle
It's not a snare drum tho . . . . .

milo
Laughable responses from Hibs by trying to use the type of drum as a justifiable reason, and embarrassing themselves further.....as it isn't a snare drum the bois use!!! Absolute pathetic idiots.
brainier
Ask if you can take a kettle drum or, better still a Japanese O'Daiko.

Bigeeze
If the bois turn up and prove its not a snare drum then surely they have no grounds to be refused entry. Hibs just shot themselves in the foot with this attempt to justify things.

NottsMFC
Gunnar not even on the bench?? It's a strange 1, not heard he's injured. Maybe in the huff after being dropped last week.
East_Stand_Al
It's a strange 1, not heard he's injured. Maybe in the huff after being dropped last week. At Half Time last week he cut a lonely figure no one seemed to want to interact with him so it's possible he's chucked his toys out the pram. I can't see McCall having much time for that if so.
