MelvinBragg
I know he's four short at the moment but can anyone tell me the last time Motherwell had two different strikers score 20 goals in consecutive seasons? I know I've worded that badly but I'm sure you all know what I mean...
CoF
According to wikipedia's post war stats, it's never happened.
texanwellfan
it's not beyond the realms of possibility that big John could equal or beat Higgy's 26. I wouldn't put money on it but with 10 games left if he hits a purple patch he might get there.
steelboy
given that we scored 100+ goals three seasons in a row in the early 30s i'd say it has almost certainly happened before.

Unlikely, as McFadyen scored almost half the goals in each of these 3 seasons, however possibly Ferrier or Stevenson also exceeded 20 in one of those seasons

ColtnessDosser
i had a look about for info and this is from the official site Remarkably few stats are available pre-war, the famous one is that McFadyen scored 52 of the 119 goals in the title-winning season. I suppose it's pretty likely that at least one of the other forwards exceeded 20 goals.
Ya Bezzer! I know I've worded that badly but I'm sure you all know what I mean... We'd never had one striker score 20 goals in my time supporting the team so to have two in successive seasons would be incredible. Sutton is currently on 48 league goals for us so it's entirely possible he can get into the 50's this season and then over take Stevie Kirk next season, who on 63 league goals who is our highest scorer during our Premier League run from 1985. The guys ahead of him are 1. Stevie Kirk 63, 2. Tommy Coyne 59, 3. Dougie Arnott 59, 4. David Clarkson 49.
Kmcalpin
Almost certainly giants like Ferrier, Ferguson and McFadyen from the 1920s and 30s would have achieved this. Later than this?
