Yassin
Probably being naive or even a wee bit thick but what's the point in "Closed door " friendlies? Surely even a couple of hundred bodies through the door would benefit the clubs, or does the cost of a few stewards cancel out any extra income? Sometimes clubs want to try out trialists without shouting it from the rooftops.
steelboy
i don't know about that. u20s games at fir park still have a few stewards working but the close door games i've been to at dalziel park with as many people in attendance don't.

The reason for the closed door games mean that bookings don't count perhaps this is the reason.
makaveli
Probably something to do with playing players without pressure of fans watching. Sounds daft but when I was doing ground staff work an old assistant manager used to complain about a couple of us watching the 1st team train at Firpark saying "it put the players off"

Sounds daft but when I was doing ground staff work an old assistant manager used to complain about a couple of us watching the 1st team train at Firpark saying "it put the players off" They probably thought you would try and set them on fire. To be fair that would put me of my game too.

makaveli
Bullshit! Exactly my response to being told that. thought it was complete and utter bullshit but thats we were told on more than one occasion. Still to this day don't get how 3-4 people sitting in a stand at Firpark can put pro footballers who are used to playing in the same stadium in front of 3000-4000 people. Don't know if it was said assistant talking shite or the guy who called himself our manager/boss
weeyin
I could easily imagine players not liking being watched when training. Nothing to do with the number of spectators and all to do with the environment.

Spiderpig
And Goodwillie signs for the sheep. And will do feck all for them, he is a waste of talent...had the potential to be a top class player but never used it.
Welldaft Mk1
If he applies himself there is no reason why it might not turn out to be a good signing. Unless he is incredibly thick () he must know this is one if not his last chance to deliver at a decent level.
steelboy
And Goodwillie signs for the sheep. it was difficult but aberdeen just got less likeable. langfield, anderson, considine, robson, jack, flood, mcginn, pawlett and goodwillie. cocksockets one and all. Yassin
I don't have anything against Aberdeen as a club, actually quite like to see them do well if I'm honest, but they really do have a team of complete twats.

Bop
Couple of Fulham fans on twitter saying we've signed Matty Briggs on a short term deal. I'd be happy if this were true, big athletic centre half to partner McManus.
