MelvinBragg
Was O'Brien not the guy we were looking at but who still hadn't recovered from injury? Was Kenny Black not quoted as saying as much..?
well-army
I did notice while looking for him on the interweb that he got an ankle injury in July. Probably a lazy Journo picking up on an old story

Toxteth O'Grady
BBC Motherwell wait for Derby defender Mark O'Brien Motherwell manager Stuart McCall aims to ease his defensive worries by signing Derby's Mark O'Brien on loan. The 21-year-old from Dublin is expected to arrive at Fir Park this week after recovering from an ankle injury. Steven Hammell, Simon Ramsden and Adam Cummins are currently sidelined from McCall's squad. Craig Reid, Zaine Francis-Angol and Fraser Kerr played in Saturday's 1-0 win over St Mirren despite not having trained for two weeks. "I think Mark would probably have been with us if he hadn't gone over on his ankle in pre-season," explained McCall. "He has just been coming back to fitness now, so he's one we are waiting for. "He started full training now so hopefully at the back end of the week, he will be a player we would like to get in on loan." McCall is also working on a deal for a new striker with a loan arrangement also likely. "If what we're working on comes off I'll be delighted," he said. "We've got to give it a chance. If it doesn't, we will have to look elsewhere. Rather than taking somebody else, I'd rather give it a chance."
Juan Kerse
The last bit does sound like it could be the boy Cole, given his pedigree etc...
Lobey_Dosser
Does sound like a potentially exciting move if it comes off. One of the Man City boys or Ojamaa maybe...
Yoshi-1991
I'm hoping it's a season loan rather than just six month, canny whack 6 month loans.
1991
The O'brien move seem a bit of a risk really as he seems very injury prone much like Ramsden but will need to give him a chance if he signs
DEWELL
Yes i hope it's season long loan deals were trying to bring in.

Yeah, I can't be doing with all the will he stay/will he go in January. Season loan would suit better.
weeyin
With any luck, Moore will be back fit by January. Given our financial situation, that may play into the length of any loan deals (assuming we take on some of the loanee's salary).

Lobey_Dosser
So McCall found out about Cole on Friday night then. Whoever he was talking about today, it sounded like an ambitious move.
Welldaft Mk1
I am not convinced that Kevin Kyle will want to play for us. I hope McCall has a fall back position.

I don't think Freddie Dindeleux is what we need, regardless of the defensive injury concerns

Juan Kerse
Rumours on Twitter (I know, I know...) that Rangers are talking to Faddy. That's more believable than the rumour that Celtic are offering him a 1 year deal. Rangers also talking to Simon Lappin apparently, blast from the past! underboyleheating
Rumours on Twitter (I know, I know...) that Rangers are talking to Faddy. The thought of Faddy signing for either of the Old Firm fills me with dread. I know it’s just a job, however, I would be happier if he went abroad or down south. punk_in_drublic
You have to wonder what physical condition McFadden is in given that he has been without a club since June and hasn't had the same sort of pre-season he had this time last year. Villageman
If true the signing of McFadden and Lappin by sevco would seem to fit in with their youth policy this season. Miller, Boyd, Zaliukas. I'm impressed.
Ya Bezzer!
Kevin Kyle? Direct replacement for Anier, aye? Kyle has more or less given up on professional football because of his fitness and he makes John Sutton look like roadrunner. No chance we are even looking at him.
