real dosser
Anybody know how much the teams get for each position in the SPFL. Looking online the last information I can find is from 2009. 1st 4% of pot + 13% = 17% 2nd 4% of pot + 11% = 15% 3rd 4% of pot + 5.5% = 9.5% Obviously the set-up then ensured the gruesome twosome got the bulk of the money but does anybody know how it changed when the new league setup came in. If it is still the same then beating the Dons for 2nd place would make a lot of extra cash for next seasons budget.
Brazilian
It has never officially been released afaik quite a few on different platforms , based estimation on one source, an old STV article which guesstimated split and figures based on tit bits released during the league reconstruction negotiations From snippets I have heard, yes second place has a significant boost over 3rd, but not quite a significant as when Rangers and Celtic were carving it up between themselves, but that alone could be down to having no league sponsor Doncaster announced with the Irn-bru deal that clubs, had now had confirmed amounts to work with, even without league sponsor and Ive seen articles saying that is £18million for SPFL prize money our own Keith is quoted in the evening times http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/spfl/lasley-penalty-decision-could-cost-us-dearly-158739n.23888447 saying 2nd gives £240k more than 3rd, that would have been nearer £1million before Rangers collapse destroyed the income
superward
2012/2013 year was the below ("last" refers to 2011/2012). Not sure on this year - similar? superward
In fact, from STV as mentioned above, it would be as follows this year. real dosser
So basically now that Sevco are not in the league the money for 1st place i.e. Celtic remains the same and the teams immediately below them take the hit for giving money to the Championship, league 1 and league 2. Anybody would think Celtic had someone in a position of power in Scottish fitba.
weeyin
Aye, the same Celtic that complain the league isn't competitive, but won't address one of the main reasons it remains that way.
real dosser
Right then we now know the first thing Flow needs to sort out at his first meeting with the SPFL bigwigs. Mon the Flow.
something else
Can't really complain, after all the clubs voted to have it this way.
texanwellfan
Can't really complain, after all the clubs voted to have it this way. That's actually part of the complaint

Anybody would think Celtic had someone in a position of power in Scottish fitba. eh , naw surprisingly, yes the first year Rangers were missing they, sacrificed nothing, it was 2nd down that split and shared the remainder but on the move to SPFL, they were said to be giving up a quite considerable chunk, from seasons previous, and other clubs sacrificed a smaller amount, which in essence provides for parachute payments to any SPFL club that drops a division ( and importantly second payment if they don't come straight back up) given that, the idea is, any club that drops, maintains fulltime status to try and keep the top of championship alive and the clubs ability to return to SPFL
Well Up For It!
I'm sure there was a proposed change to financial payments after Rangers demise and it was vetoed by Celtic and Aberdeen. The same two clubs who vetoed the change of vote from 11-1, which it currently is, to 8-4.
