MelvinBragg
Cannot win a penalty shoot out with a tiny keeper. At least Nielsen has previous for saving penalties...
Shaka
Fuckin pathetic. Yet another cup fuckup, and yet more money chucked away. Any other managers jacket would be on a shoogly peg!

milo
Penalties are a bit of a lottery. Really disappointing. These players and manager aren't capable of cup performances it would appear.

Welldaft Mk1
Seems we have a disliking for plastic pitches. 4 games and 4 losses since the Albion debacle. Was always going to be close tonight. Thankfully I am in Portugal, but when you see we hit the bar and post in the same move you get that feeling. When it went to penalties I also got that feeling. If there is a way to lose we will find it even if they are a lottery. We could have done with a cup run but we seem jinxed since finishing 2nd Here is hoping the players are up for revenge come Saturday. siebsbarmyarmy
Didn't make the match tonight, who is to blame in your opinion and why? Stuart McCall plain and simple. Tactics, team selection, substitutions and his negativity.

Goggles & Flippers
To be fair, Accies are the form team and we aren't, their patch, plastic pitch, it was always going to be tough. Is everyone who is pouring scorn doing so because we finished 2nd last season and they were promoted from 12 places below us?
Lobey_Dosser
Accies were nowhere near full strength.
Burn_Broomfield
I'd be interested to see where McCall ranks in terms of cup/knock out matches.
superward
Just back. Very disappointing but not an abomination of a performance....certainly not on the level of the start of the season! We set up with a stubborn formation to let them play themselves out which was probably correct given the tricky, fast players they had. Defence quite comfortable majority of the game but our midfield were poor and Sutton isolated. When they went to 10men we had a real chance. We were on top for 10mins after that and really should have taken advantage of it. 2 maybe 3 decent penalty claims for us I thought and Vigurs shot pulled a worldy from the goalie. Any of those 4 going our way change the game. When OB goes off our full game plan changes and we were seeing it out to penalties. Then we go and hit the bar and post in the one move! Our midfield were the big problem for me - second to every ball, no guile or composure and I lost count the amount of times Lasley, Law, Leitch and Vigurs gave the ball away. Twardzik did nowt wrong all night but for penalties he just is not big enough. Never mind the mental aspect of it but he just does not have the reach for shots from that distance out. Not that I am blaming him for the defeat. A frustrating one but I wouldnt be surprised if we beat them on Saturday as they were not better than us tonight. motherwell1886
It was always going to happen . Personally rather be out of league cup , focus on league and scottish cup.regarding dan, he will save penalties.thinkHugh sproat.also why was Craig Reid taking penalty ahead of strikers.felt a bit odd decision. underboyleheating
Dan will never save a penalty, he's too small A big keeper is certainly more intimidating for any penalty taker. Without doubt this defeat is another massive kick in the baws.
Del_Superwell
Saw a thing in the paper today saying McCall's cup record was won 2 drawn 3 and lost 14 or something like that, I reckon that has to be worst cup record out of any Motherwell manager ever!! He didn't - it was Ramsden. Sutton and Ojaama had already taken their penalties and scored. We were left with Ramsden, Reid, Kerr, Lasley or Dan to take. StipeIsGod
If we're all sounding like Old Firm fans these days, who's going to be the one that says it's just the Mickey Mouse cup?
