TAM
Good chance now that Black will be in charge for the crunch run against County, St.Mirren and Thistle. Hoping he's been told he has a chance to get job so that at least he has motivation to steer them through!
ONeils40yarder
At least Angol wouldn't get a regular game. beat me to it
fat_tony
Couldn't see us appointing a new manager given the uncertainty over ownership. Hopefully it is resolved by the end of the month and Black and the players can do the business while we are in limbo. Crunch games are coming thick and fast. Speaking of which...BBC Sounds like you're spot on. Motherwell: Kenny Black to stay in charge as board forms shortlist Kenny Black will continue as caretaker manager of Motherwell while the club's board forms a shortlist for the managerial vacancy at Fir Park. However, no permanent appointment will be made until ownership of the club is finally resolved, possibly this month. A statement on the club website says 55 candidates from 20 countries have applied to replace Stuart McCall. "We have been extremely encouraged by the quality and calibre of applicants from across the world," it says. McCall resigned as manager of the Scottish Premiership club on 2 November with the team struggling to find the form of recent seasons. John Boyle has placed his 70% shareholding in trust in the hope thatcommunity-based group The Well Society can raise the funds to buy them, though other groups are also reported to be interested in seeking control. The statement said that discussions with interested parties "are ongoing" and that it plans to "reach a conclusion by the end of the current month". It continued: "As a result, the board has agreed to delay the appointment of a new manager until the issue of ongoing ownership of the club is resolved. "We have spoken at length with Kenny Black and he enthusiastically agreed to continue in the role as caretaker manager until a full time appointment is made. "We are extremely grateful to Kenny and the rest of the management team for their cooperation during this period as we look forward to the next chapter in the club's history." DEWELL
Yes there's going to be big changes by the looks of things. All we can do is wait.
Goggles & Flippers
Mid December at the earliest, by which Kenny may have made a tangible case to be considered.
superward
Odds changing again: Adams drifting out to nearly evens, McKinlay into 2nd favourite at 11/2, Black into 3rd favourite at 13/2. Solano out to 4th and now Gary Locke next closest after that at 14/1.
si91
So if we're in fan ownership by the end of November, will fans be polled to see who gets the job? If not, how will the new man be selected?
Goggles & Flippers
I've got 100 shares in Shell and 150 in RBS, doesn't mean I influenced their last executive appointments. I suspect the board (including 2 WS appointees) will do it. Don't think that being a WS member means you have anything like a say, get away from that mindset. Dr.Pepper
So if we're in fan ownership by the end of November, will fans be polled to see who gets the job? If not, how will the new man be selected? By the board. I don't think our fan ownership model is like the myfootballclub.com at Ebbsfleet United experiment, unless I have missed something. Coolhandluc
Imagine a SteelmenOnline vote affecting the next manager appointment. That would be the end of days right there. Just what I was thinking. God help us!

No, the Society has been pretty clear that they expect the Board to making decisions like that. God help us if they ever went down the Ebbsfleet path. I took part in that and it was a disaster - mostly because a lot of the key information was withheld.
Yassin
We'd probably end up with a Malky Mackay/Nick Griffin double act.

Goggles & Flippers
Any player having 2 bad games in a row would be transfer listed under those two. However lets not ignore the fact that 75% of the current squad would be handed P45's on day one of the regime.

stv
Everyone is allowed personal views and to make a mistake . Hes having to start at the bottom again that will teach him . If you have never told a dodgey joke or shouted anything dodgy at the match or forwarded a text then wire intae him, if you have then you cant say too much .No getting at anyone in particular but that's how it seems nowadays everyones easily offended and morally perfect themselves .# I'mperfect
weeyin
I think it's a matter of degree. However, it's one thing to be a racist, homophobic anti-semite in private. It's a different thing to broadcast those views on a company phone.
StipeIsGod
And a relatively high profile job in the second highest division in English football is hardly the bottom.

Goggles & Flippers
Completely off topic now, but while I like the fact we are evolving, maybe not at a rate acceptable to some and too fast for many others, we are progressing. However I'm pretty sure its not only middle aged white men who are the one's dishing out the one liners and put downs, I'm pretty sure Jo Brand has made a career out of it and going on about how much cake she consumes. People on all sides, all backgrounds and all associations make silly references and comments that with hindsight they regret (granted sometimes not because they are contrite, it's to take the heat off them) or their opinion changes over time. Growing up in West Central Scotland as a 16 year old I have little time of gays, if anyone at school did anything other than macho they were labelled a poof and to not pour scorn got you labelled as one too. All these years later I've worked around the world with a great deal of gay people and interacted and also socialised on a daily basis. Do I feel the same as I did as a 16 year old, no. Should I be judged on my opinions as a 16 year old, I hope not. With respect to Mackay, in these days of heightened media exposure a light is shone on it that once wouldn't have been many years back. Does he deserve another chance, yes. Will he make the same mistake again, I doubt it. Debates like this always remind me back to the Celeb Big Brother scandal where Jade Goody was vilified for racist behaviour to Shilpa Shetty. Yes she was guilty of jealousy, bullying and exclusion by forming a clique. The thing the media picked up on was how she said when she cooked it tasted of curry and did her accent for laughs with her mates. Always wonders if it was a Scottish housemate and Jade was to suggest everything was deep fried, tasted of Haggis and Irn Bru and did a "hoots mon, where's yer troosers?" would she have been hauled over the coals as much? Back to the football please.
