ONeils40yarder
Not directly club related, but just hearing that the Fir Park Club is closing down?
Frazzie
Last night tonight. Would be great if MFC could acquire it.
Coolhandluc
Really ? My mates went down yesterday to renew membership. Didn't go myself and was actually thinking twice about bothering this year
ONeils40yarder
2 chances of that happening Frazzle, although it would be ideal if they did

wee jo
The club forced the fir park club out of the main stand to where it is now, as years ago motherwell built a white elephant, think it was squash centre, so don't see them getting fingers burnt again. wee jo
Years ago you needed to be there for about 6 on a friday night if you weren't a member to try and get in

Onthefringes
Like I said in the shout box, too many currant buns with their hands in the till & has been the case for years. Some can dress it up how they like, it was a Rangers shop & won't be missed by plenty. With the licensed trade being in the shape it is, could be the opportunity of creating a proper fanzone may well be outwith realms of possibility.

Always thought it was a disgrace that the nearest pub to Fir Park was a h*n shop.
Goggles & Flippers
As I said in the shoutbox, social attitudes and behaviour has changed, there's no way enough revenue can come in over 5 hours every fortnight and from £5 an hour from a snooker table for the club to come close to even give it a thought. Sorry to see a host of people lose their livelihood but market forces brought about it's downfall.
SteelmaninOZ
met a good few lassies in the Fir Park Club when it was under the main stand.....

Onthefringes
would be nice to have a community/family club. Lot of clubs work like that down here. It would be, the reality is as Goggles & Flippers puts it - no way enough revenue can come in over 5 hours every fortnight for the club to come close to even give it a thought. God forbid, a Cooper Suite Mark 2.
weeyin
I think the idea is that it's open every night, not just on game days. Having said that, I don't think we have enough local support for that to be viable either.
Goggles & Flippers
Yeah, that's why I mentioned the snooker tables. Issue for me was it was like sitting in someone's basement, always expected to see a door swing open and have a guy in leather with a gimp mask on. Tassinari
Turn the Big Hall into an indoor 5's, expand the Snooker/Pool and do some cheap, decent food. Maybe turn one of the rooms into a wee room for hire. Job Done!
Goggles & Flippers
You should handle our transfers Ramsden out for £500k to English Championship side. Darren Fletcher in on loan because LVG has always had a soft spot for us. Job done!

Jds is not the same pub as it was 10 years ago. Way downhill in the last 3 to 4 years. The new owners have tried hard and suppose we will see how it goes.
