steelboy
Genuinely more of a question than a suggestion but could Baraclough be keeping Thomas out of the limelight until he is tied down to a long-term contract? If he is doing that he is more clueless than I thought.
star sail
If he is doing that he is more clueless than I thought. Nathan Thomas scoring this eve, a goal and assist from Grant already, a goal from new defender Laing, a team that played with good shape, determination and communication at the weekend, a new fitness coach, a more commanding keeper............... It all adds up to one thing Steelboy: Baraclough must indeed be clueless?

milo
I was so busy enjoying the performance and victory from the weekend that I forgot to moan Dom Thomas didn't play.
Infamous Wee Grafter
That's part of dealing with young players, and it's up to us to put in place a system where our best young players don't want to leave. Aye, good luck with that pickle of a problem. Not even "the biggest club in the world" could prevent Paul Pogba from leaving them. And by accounts, their youth setup is second to none. Dom Thomas is 19, he needs to be getting games now.
Goggles & Flippers
Wasn't there a Somali immigrant kid who's family settled in Glasgow and he signed with Celtic and he was meant to potentially be world class? I think because he spent his formative school years here (like Jordan Rhodes) he was available for the dark blue jersey too. Anyone cast a light? Islam Feruz - signed for Chelsea after coming through the Celtic youth system and currently on loan with Blackpool. Although he played at Scotland youth level too, rumour is he knocked back more recent call ups and possibly looking to play for a different nation at senior level. bobbybingo
Feruz played a grand total of 16 minutes for Blackpool and they're shipping him back to Chelsea because of his attitude. He was also sent back from a loan in Greece, then mumped about a move to Cardiff cos he didn't fancy the club, changed his mind and was knocked back when they had a look at him. Seems to have got into a bit of bother off the field too (not that he spends much time on it). Should be good in the air right enough, with a head that size. Goggles & Flippers
Sounds like a perfect modern Scottish internationalist, he'll tell the manager he's not available at 21, at least Boyd was 26 when he spat the dummy.
Frazzie
Feruz sounds like a wee dick. Made his girlfriend put on his Scotland top, pumped her and put photos on Facebook. Also seemingly a fan of the line "Do you even know who I am bruv?" to barmen, bouncers and randoms.

Well Up For It!
Very good news. Tying our young prospects to long term deals is more important than anything else for me. All extremely positive off the field just now with us.

Mitch
It is what we have all been wanting for a long time. Really impressed with the way the new regime is going about its business. Ya Bezzer!
Good news, especially the length of contract. We need to vary contract lengths because what has happened this season should never happen again with well over half the squad out of contract. Plus as good young talent we can maybe hang on to him longer or negotiate a good deal. Now - get him on the pitch!
Goggles & Flippers
Plus as good young talent we can maybe hang on to him longer or negotiate a good deal. You'd think so wouldn't you, Hutchison had his contract extended by 2 years in the summer of 2011 to keep him here to the end of 2013/14. That didn't really work out as the financial windfall we expected.
Frazzie
That was nothing to do with him or his contract though. You can almost state as fact that we wouldn't have finished second without him, and if we could have negotiated our way past a pub team over two legs we would have had a five figure crowd and TV money from a Lech Poznan tie and possibly Inter Milan, which would have more than justified his extension. DEWELL
Hutchie's gone. A 3 and a half year deal for Thomas is fantastic news. Hope he fulfills his potential with us.
weeyin
We also struggled to sell on Randolph. We virtually put up a For Sale sign when he had a year to go and we couldn't find a buyer. Very promising that we are giving longer term contracts to these guys though. If we can sell them on, we get a better deal, and if we don't sell them on we get another 3 years of their contributions. Good work all round.
