Prestwickwell
Don't know if this has been mentioned. But if Hibs get to the Scotish cup final, how does that affect the dates of the play off game???? Players are out of contract round about the end of May??? ( I think )
wee jo
Been spoke about before, games rearranged, and players are under contract until 30th June, hope doesn't affect us though!
Andy_P
But if Hibs get to the Scotish cup final, how does that affect the dates of the play off game???? Current scheduled dates are Thursday 28th May and Sunday 31st May. With the Scottish Cup Final on Saturday 30th May and the Champions League Final on Saturday 6th June, they don't have much scope for movement. It appears it would either be Tuesday 2nd June and Friday 5th June or Wednesday 3rd June and Sunday 7th June.
Lobey_Dosser
Scotland play at Easter Road on 5th June. Let's face it, if Hibs get to the cup final they'll no be allowed to get to playoff final. Rangers have already had a helping today with the fixtures farce. Andy_P
Top flight team is at home in the 2nd leg of the play-off so the Scotland game at Easter Road is a bit of a red herring when considering the dates.
Lobey_Dosser
Surely there isn't going to be a high profile club game the same day as Scotland though?
Andy_P
You wouldn't think so but this is the SPFL and SFA we are dealing with here! Or perhaps I should rephrase that, this is the SPFL and SFA's broadcasting partners we are dealing with here...
johnstone
Rangers are utter shite. I would be betting on Hibs in the final. Christ the sevconians couldn't even beat Livingston!
Ya Bezzer!
Although signed players are normally signed until the end of June, I'm lead to believe that some loan players are signed on deals that expire at the end of May or the end of the first week of May which is the end of the Championship league fixtures. Frazzie
They've had the h**s playing on the same day as Scotland this season already I think.
Kmcalpin
I raised this topic some weeks ago on these boards and was reliably told that its not an issue for us.

maxywell
If it's Rangers we end up playing i'm assuming they'll get the away stand only for the second leg? I expect a fair few people will be pissed off if we decide to give them other sections too.
Well-Made
The Daily Record is reporting that various clubs will have players out of contract at the end of May. Motherwell will have 12 players that contracts are up if the games are rescheduled. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/spfl-fixture-farce-motherwell-set-5527856 Motherwell will wait until Monday to before entering talks with the players. I would have thought we would have players out of contract Is this bad planning from us as a club because the story also goes on to say Queen of the South have there players signed up into June??? Presumably they've looked at when there season could end & signed up players accordingly while it doesn't look like we have. This isnt a dig by the way, more of a question
milo
On the one hand "what the fuck?!?! Whatever next?!?!" But then again surely I shouldn't be too hard to get players contracts extended for another week?!
Ya Bezzer!
If the play offs are extended into June then we could be without George Long, Louis Laing, Tony Straker, Conor Grant and Mark O'Brien as their loan period expires at the end of May. All contracted players are signed up to the end of June.
superward
Aye, Ya Bezzer is right. The rest are until end of June. This is a good and accurate site for info: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/motherwell-fc/vertragsende/verein/987 Given they are all loans I sure we can get another week out of them if required. weeyin
Its outside the transfer window so wouldnt it be classed as another loan?? So what will happen is that we will finish 11th, extend their loan, gub Rangers in the final and then get relegated when Rangers complain to the SFA about illegal loans and the SFA changes their rules to accomodate them.

steelman1991
Not only is it accurate - it's straight from the Appendix to the SPFL rule book.
ropy
Rangers are a one man team, that man is a loanee from Newcastle, what does his contract say.

This isnt a dig by the way, more of a question Can't really say it's bad planning on our part, by the rights the season should be over at the end of May, it's only yesterday\today's press we are hearing that there are plans to extend the season into June to accommodate Hibs if they reach the Cup Final. Bear in mind that the we could be looking at extending contracts on Monday and not actually need them if Hibs don't get to the playoff final. We probably didn't think we'd be in this position at the start of the season either. No-one could have predicted when we were offering contracts last season or the season before that we'd go from 2nd top to possibly 2nd bottom.
