Bigeeze
It's not possible to put enough stewards between the stand and the park to stop people coming on. Their is no way the club, the stewards or the police can stop a couple of hundred people getting over the wall if they are determined to.The SPFL obviously think handing out a few bans might discourage it happening again. It'll be interesting to see how the club react. The only time we came close was Skippy Sunday when only 1 guy got on the park. Part of it is down to the police who tell the club and stewards not to chase fans if they get on the park as it will leave gaps for more to get on. As a steward working that day it was so Ott the number of stewards and police ringing track side.but it worked. You run the risk though of being branded heavy handed and *spoiling the atmosphere" by some and painted in a bad light.so the club is in a lose \ lose situation. ONeils40yarder
100% at the top of my list. Was only 8 when we won the cup and the only other game that came close was Fitzpatrick at Easter Road I'd been fucked out the ground long before Fitzy scored....listened to it on the radio in a boozer on Easter Road, one of my real MFC related regrets
Bigeeze
Snipers on the main stand roof picking off miscreants one by one as they clamber over the wall and onto the pitch. Surely machine gun barrage and land mines track side? It would make throw ins interesting lol

McGhee can use his German contacts to sort that out
Kmcalpin
Can anyone tell me the recommended ratio of fans to stewards is and what it was at the Sevco game?
the traveller
My understanding is that for such games the ratio is meant to be 1 steward for every 10 fans. We had 1 steward for every 5 fans.
ropy
There were 9000 at the game, was this ratio only for fans in the East and South stands? Otherwise 1800 stewards?

We had 1 steward for every 5 fans. That doesn't surprise me. I wonder if the Kangaroo Court took that into account in its deliberations.

faddythedaddy
I see lee Erwin tweeting his support for rangers today Clever
the traveller
Sorry typo error on my part. It should have read 100 and 50. We had double the number of stewards that were required.
ONeils40yarder
Lee Erwin showed his professionalism in the 2 legs against the team he supported, when we 'battered' them. He's not our player anymore and can support who he likes
daver
Sounds like he's angling for a move there and trying to get the fans onside.

superward
Sounds like he's angling for a move there and trying to get the fans onside. You got that from one tweet? Which incidentally was just a picture of the rangers game on a tv and had no words....or is it a different one?
daver
Fair enough but there's been rumours before about them being interested in them taking him on loan. Could depend on how often he tweets about Rangers or in general.
underboyleheating
I don’t see anything particularly wrong with this. Professional footballer and self confessed Rangers fan tweets about the club he supports. I would be more concerned if he wasn’t trying when playing against the club he supports. weeyin
Remember when we knocked back their bid for Skippy and the headlines were all about how we killed his "dream move" to Ibrox? Good times.
