underboyleheating
What strip will we wear, considering both of our kits will clash with Partick's home kit? I would imagine Thistle will wear their pale blue away kit.
weeyin
TBH, I don't really see much of a clash between our away kit and Thistle's home. Dark, mostly solid claret vs Yellow and red stripe.
delboy
a few weeks ago I would have put us down for a win but the jags have hit some form so I don't think it going to be an easy game I would be happy with a point if I am honest but my fingers are crossed for a win as for the strips, I don't really care it's who in them that counts
Izett
Whats the parking like at Firhill, I'm driving there for the first time?
superward
Whats the parking like at Firhill, I'm driving there for the first time? I usually park somewhere near the 5 a side pitches/lidl no bother and walk over. 5 min walk.
Ocelot Groomin'
There must be doubts about this game being on? Its to rain for 48 hrs
MelvinBragg
It's not raining in Glasgow just now. I feel as if games get called off a lot more often now than 15-20 years ago despite pitch protection that the clubs have available. Probably were as many games called off back then, just my perception...

Just pull up some of the youtube videos of games like Celtic vs Motherwell when Wullie P was playing, and the Parkhead pitch looks like a ploughed field. Whether or not it's a good thing to be playing on that I suppose is up for debate.
mjw
Pitch inspection at Parkhead tomorrow. It's to get a lot worse before kick off tomorrow.
Coolhandluc
I think it's like everything else tbh, more concern about health and safety. Probably a good thing, but there was always something special about a good old battle in the mud
superward
Always the risk of a dangling bit of roof due to the wind I suppose. Less likely back in the day as less stands!
mio
Give me a game in the rain on a shitty muddy park any day before a game in a gale force wind. Cant remember ever enjoying watching a game in high winds.....total farce!! prefer it to be off tbh.
BigWeegieDosser
Just driven thru the West End It's not wet , it's biblically wet and blowing a gale If it carries on like this the game will be a total lottery, Firhill for gills! StipeIsGod
I suspect there's no danger of this going ahead. Been solidly chucking it down overnight in Glasgow as well.

StipeIsGod
Gutted actually. Only been to a couple of aways and everything had lined up perfectly for this one. Ah well. Not surprised mind you. It is insanely wet and wild out here.
milo
I did suspect we would end the day on the same points as we started it!
underboyleheating
No surprising considering the weather we have had over the last few days.
twistandshout1983
Right decision to have the game off, unreasonable to expect anyone to travel on days like this. Summer football definetly the way ahead.
weeyin
Right decision to have the game off, unreasonable to expect anyone to travel on days like this. Summer football definetly the way ahead. SPFL season currently runs from August 1st to the Cup final on 21st of May. Almost 10 full months. If you want summer football with that length of season you either need games in December or February. The annual pitch renovation would also need to take place in those 2 months off during winter when the grass won't grow. So I imagine everyone would need to go artificial surfaces. Ya Bezzer!
Looked at the weather forecast last night and knew there was no chance of the game being on. You can't play football in 40mph winds, never mind the rain, it would be a farce. Everyone can support Kilmarnock this afternoon!

steelboy
We're closer to Kilmarnock than we are United. If United win today there is a good chance we would either be bottom on Xmas day or going up there on boxing day with a chance of going bottom. We should all be supporting Kilmarnock.
