MearnsWell
Canny see Gomis going on runs wide right the same as Grimshaw, he's more a central defensive Rottweiler type midfielder. Not that that's a bad thing per se, just they're fundamentally different in their attributes
GazzyB
Hoping this goes to a replay today! Which we win, of course.
superward
True. Everyone put the pitchforks down and step back from the abyss. Haha. As for the game...think I would maybe go 4-3-2-1. Ripley Law Hall McManus Hammersmith Gomis Lasley Pearson Ainsworth Johnson (as wingers, not behind the striker) Skippy Wasn't for changing the 442 but that seems to be not really working. Nailed it...apart from Ainsworth and Hall...so kind of
siebsbarmyarmy
Hmm surely not Marvin up front......
milo
Hmm surely not Marvin up front...... That was my first thoughts/fear but I'm hoping that it's more of a 5 man midfield. That said, I'm not a fan of 1 upfront. No sign of Fletcher either.
ropy
Is it Gomis for Moult?
weeyin
Hope McGhee isn't overthinking it again. We have proven over the years how bad we are playing one up front, but even if we weren't, I'd have thought Moult was a better choice for that role. capt_oats
I'm not surprised we've gone for something a bit different. Looks more like a 4321 than a straight up 433 tbh with Johnson and Cadden playing off McDonald.
Lobey_Dosser
McGhee trying to outsmart Yogi, we'll see how it pans out. Not the 1st time McGhee has thrown a curve ball in a cup game.

Aye, it started in Nancy with his "no shots on goal" curve ball.
MelvinBragg
Aye, it started in Nancy with his "no shots on goal" curve ball. Followed up by Stephen Hughes at left wing vs St Mirren...
Lobey_Dosser
Exactly the two I was thinking of. Maybe not the worst thing that I'm missing this today. On the plus side we have a strong bench to turn the game.
weeyin
Today doesn't look too much of a change, so hoping he has learned from the past.

McCusker
josh law made an arse of it at the goal. the plan mcghee seems to hve gone with today is lets smash the ball high to mcdonald so he can lose everything in the air and the balls he does win he is isolated so we have no chance. bizarre!!!!! couttsy
Another terrible first half performance. Pearson looks lost where he's been asked to play, McDonald isolated and there's nothing for defenders to hit when playing long balls. Get Moult on at HT for Cadden or Pearson and at least give it a go. Bet he waits until it's 2-0 before he changes it though.... Rapidly going off McGhee and his arrogant style. Richie
To compound things, McDonald appears oblivious to the offside rule.

siebsbarmyarmy
Take of Cadden...., crazy talk. Best player in the first half. Get Lasley off.
milo
Very worrying that there's no apparent reaction from Tuesday, that we look rotten, and that we're playing yet another horrific formation!
