BigWeegieDosser
Seems odd that Louis Moult is going for surgery " sometime in the next two weeks, hopefully" The op is apparently necessary, yet we could be two weeks away from even any start to his recovery . I presume it's a low cost BUPA plan we're using? Why announce he needs it and then delay ...
Lukemfc1
Not a fan of Moore from what I have seen he will be lucky to last another year but why would we give the boy a one-year deal then put him out on loan for a year? Bizarre
Orinoco
To get a fee if he signed for another club. Only he accepted our offer.
CrosshillWell
Could it be a compensation issue? ie: If we didn't offer him a deal could he have gone to Ayr as a free agent, but now we will get a compensation fee? A bit like Saunders, promising start then a bad injury. Good luck to him.

capt_oats
Reading McGhee's comments on the official site it seems to be as folk have been suggesting, in his words we need to be "clever" with the budget. Moore's unlikely to get that much game time so by extension you'd think that we're freeing up a wage. He also mentions we have a call back option in January. steelboy
Dumbarton were looking at him as well and thought they could get him. I don't think he was ever in McGhee's plans and may have had a similar option deal to McDonald.
supermarv
There a championship club now, he's just signed a new deal so I'm pretty sure they'll be paying a part of his wage
Joeboy
When we signed Anier permanently in the January, we had to lose McHugh and Cummins from the wage bill to facilitate that and I suspect this is us being clever there. Seems a bit bizarre giving him a deal all the same.
fergi4
Craig Moore has rejoined Ayr United on loan https://twitter.com/motherwellfc/status/755404701332561920 Disgrace! The lad done the business last year, has bulked up and surely deserved a shot? Considering Moult is injured, Blyth and Mackin are big lumps and McDonald is more the catalyst/provider than an out and out goalscorer, Moore could have been given a fairer chance. Unless we have an alternative option in mind, I'm struggling to see a lot of goals in this team in the first month or so and with recent years defensive stats...oh boy. Welldaft Mk1
I would have thought he would have been given the chance in the rest of the league cup games with Moult injured. Really surprised at this move.
Busta Nut
shouts of El Bakhtaoui are mental. If the funds have been freed up its from midfielder, not another striker. I would have rather had Moore than El Bahktoui anyway
Ya Bezzer!
What the fuck is going on? Only thing is that Moore is out on loan so we can bring in another midfielder. Even then I doubt Ayr Utd are paying full wages.
Lobey_Dosser
Given that we did offer El Bakhtaoui a contract a few months ago, I wouldn't be surprised if we are still monitoring his situation. Presumably though, there would be other outgoings lined up to accommodate El Bakhtaoui and a midfielder.
superward
We can nip to the El Bakhtoui chat in the bud right now as he is on trial with Blackburn Also 99% sure we wont be getting another striker in. Moore moved on to free up some wages for a central midfielder. Dont be surprised to see 1 or 2 more move on also.

milo
On the face of it, it seems strange to sign Moore on a 1 year deal then put him out on loan, especially if Ayr aren't paying all his wages and our budget is so tight. We don't know the details though.
weeyin
a) McGhee is a clueless idiot with no strategy. b) McGhee is a shrewd operator who knows exactly what he is doing based on working with the players every day and access to the budget details. Choose one, it seems.

We don't know the details though. As mentioned earlier, Moore was possibly offered a contract so there would be compensation if he left. However he accepted the contract so this a decent option for the club. Also if he scores goals in the Championship he could force his way back into the reckoning at Fir Park.
