Raoul_Duke
Keep in mind that 15% of whatever we get for Marvin will go straight to Kidderminster. http://www.worcesternews.co.uk/sport/13329868.No_cash_injection_for_Kidderminster_Harriers_if_Marvin_Johnson_seals_move/ As much as I'd like to see Marv stay, if we get an offer anywhere near £1m then I'd say it'd be good business to sell on. The balls in our court in so much as I believe we have him under contract till 2018, but I think an offer anywhere near £1m would be difficult for the club to turn down. capt_oats
Seems there's a sell on clause in Moult's deal though. "We do a great deal of work when we sell players and if Motherwell sell Louis Moult, there will be kick-backs with that as well." http://m.leaderlive.co.uk/mobile/msport/157131/don-bircham-insists-there-are-no-issues-over-wrexham-afc-transfer-budget.aspx

Lukemfc1
Listen, Marvin is the best technically skilled player in the squad but he's never really attained any form of real consistency in a fairly weak league. He wasn't near anyone's SPFL team of the season last term. £1.6M? Of course we'd take it but the point is no one is going to offer it. Guys like Johnny Hayes and Greg Stewart have been much more effective players over the last couple of seasons so are they worth £2M plus? Price wise we are getting nowhere near this figure, we will be lucky to get £1M for him (and that is a push) I don't think Marvin's strength is his technical ability. I think it is more his atheltic ability. I would argue that guys like Ainsworth and Scott Mcdonald are streets ahead of him in technique. Marvin beats guys mainly with pace and power his technique is sometimes clumsy.

Last post by:
I heard 2.95 Million. We should ask for more but agree we would have to accept that grudgingly.

superward
I keep going back to it...but with 2 years left on his deal he won't be going anywhere on the cheap. We are in a really strong position (for once)
MelvinBragg
QPR fans reckon 1.6mill plus a loan for ROI u-21 Ryan ManningProbably would suit us as by the sounds of it, Manning is a player who plays in a similar position and it would save us having to find a replacement... MelvinBragg
The seethe on here when be goes for £400k will be a thing of beauty.Oh aye, should have said that I reckon getting a player on loan through the deal will suit us but the chances of us getting a fee north of £1m are slim... Joeboy
We do seem to be in a better position than we have been with sellable assets in years gone by, given the length of his deal. However, I really can't imagine 1.6 million being the opening bid and I am also sceptical about our ability to negotiate up to it.
capt_oats
Again for a bit of context, Junior Hoilett's reported salary is considerably more than the actual fee people are suggesting is being quoted for Johnson.I know QPR were an absolute financial black hole but it seems that they're in the process of re-shaping their squad they've sold Phillips to WBA, have moved Fer (who they paid £8m for) on to Swansea and are trying to move the aforementioned Hoilett on as well. As I say, it remains to be seen whether or not there's any truth in the link and even more so what sort of fee he'd go for however if Hasselbaink genuinely wants Johnson then it's a bit naive to think that a team in QPR's market wouldn't countenance a figure of £1.6m if it was a player they actually wanted. As I said before I'm very much of an "I'll believe it when I see it" view and considering we only paid £30k for Johnson even £500k would represent a substantial profit but similarly given the fees that are commonplace at the end of the Championship that QPR aspire to be I wouldn't be surprised at a £1m+ fee with add ons. Edit: just looking at QPR's signings so far they're all officially listed as 'undisclosed fee' however here are a couple of articles that have some fees quoted (speculation I grant you but still): Joel Lynch: Huddersfield > QPR c.£1.2m http://www.kilburntimes.co.uk/sport/football/qpr_transfer_news_joel_lynch_set_for_1_2m_move_to_loftus_road_1_4593376 Jake Bidwell: Brentford > QPR c.£1.3m http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-jake-bidwell-deal Ariel Borysiuk: Legia Warsaw > QPR c.£800k http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/deal-close-qpr-agree-fee-with-league-champions-for-midfielder/
superward
Another example of the money being thrown around, or expected to be spent, by Championship clubs.....Blackburn want £6m for Grant Hanley and have knocked back a £4.5m bid from Newcastle already. GRANT HANLEY!
capt_oats
If you believe "The Twitter" QPR have agreed an initial fee of £1.25m for Jordan Cousins from League 1 Charlton Athletic. Edit: That one has been confirmed, another undisclosed fee but consensus seems to be £1.5m up to £2m depending on add ons.
