Ya Bezzer!
Thought McHugh would have taken over as one of the main goalscorers when Murphy left though he did have plenty of chances in the first team and never impressed that much. Really? He had plenty chances? Between 2007 and 2015 he had 9 league starts. In season 2009/10 he started 2 league matches on the trot, the only time that ever happened while he was at the club. Overall his record of league starts was 2014/15 - 1 2013/14 - 3 2012/13 - 2 2011/12 - 1 2010/11 - 0 2009/10 - 2 2008/09 - 0 2007/08 - 0 Sure he had a lot more substitute appearances but you can hardly expect a player to come on getting 5 minutes here, 10 minutes there to prove himself.
Waldo
He was 'might be good enough' but had a few injuries. We chose to keep others. Can we close the thread?
superward
McHugh never showed enough in his sub appearances or his starts. Got one more contract than I think he should have.

steelboy
He was unlucky that he never got out on loan until he was 22 and by that point he was being hindered by all the sub appearances and reserve football.

weeyin
Of course he's in the headlines for a few recent games, but he went from occasional sub at Fir Park to regular sub at Falkirk. This thread makes it seem he is knocking them in every week for Arsenal. He has time to improve, but even now he's not as good as the guys that were keeping him out our first team. gullane
Darren Smith has banged in a few goals for Stilrling but I don't see him returning to Fir Park anytime soon either.
