He only scored 2 goals in 304 appearances for Celtic, 6 for Motherwell in 252 so the best stats of his career were at Fir Park but as far as he's concerned he's a Celtic legend, as I said a tosser. He scored one for Brazil

And to be honest, not many legendary full-backs attain that status for their goalscoring prowess.
grizzlyg
Just a suggestion, I see Allan Campbell on bench again for Charlton, I know it's a loan but I wonder if we could try and get him on loan in January, would be a great foil for Miller

weeyin
Hadn't watched Cardiff City for a few weeks, but saw Turnbull wasn't even on the bench today. A quick google shows he is "facing 'long-term' absence after surgery" after he suffered a hamstring injury. Never great, but even worse for him give that he had established himself as a first team starter this season, and was turning in some good performances. Its a real shame seeing whats happening to his career. Had really high hopes for him, particularly in a Scotland context as it was clear he wouldnt be with us for long. I always wonder whether players with poor injury records is down to genetics or whether playing a lot of football from an early age is actually bad for the body? mio
4 months he’s apparently out for. He’d actually been playing really well under their new manager too. Gutted for him.

Both Spittal and Dhanda were some of the top performers in the league last season and they didnt seem to have any plan as to how they were going to use them. Critchley looks like he is starting to get his head around what he has in the dressing room. Hopefully he hasnt quite got it worked out by 2nd January! Just goes to show how difficult it is to make it in senior football. Clearly our best youth team in many years and although a few got into our first team and are still playing at a decent level, only 3 would really be considered as having been really successful. A handy reference to have when we are having debates about pathways to the first team and whether managers are supportive of young players or not.

As I've said before, I can't think of any young player we have released that ended up playing at a higher level than us. And even the ones that chose to leave for "better things" (rather than be punted) have mostly struggled. Max Johnston is the rare exception in the latter category, and even Turnbull (after a good initial spell) has had a downturn in fortunes.
