I know his best days are behind him and his injury record is not the best but he'd still be a big upgrade on the alleged strikers we have now. That said I don't think we should be signing him again. No doubt there will be the usual clamour from the usual suspects in our support for us to sign him again. Those same suspects who were happy to see us mugged off by us signing McFadden the second and third time and some of them would probably be happy enough if we offered McFadden a three year deal tomorrow. But absolutely under no circumstances should we be going anywhere near Louis Moult this summer. He’s had his time with us and it’s been and gone. It’s in the past so let’s leave it there and enjoy the memories. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up at St.Mirren with Robinson mind you.

He's better than anything we have and normally I'm dead against the charity service we offer to former players and yes the pull for Moult is strong because of the feeling he has for the club and vice versa. That said he's one Id take a chance on and add as a squad player, he IS BETTER than what we have , he would not cost a fortune. A one year deal as a squad player is no great risk. Christ we paid £250,000 for AP and I'm still yet to be convinced about him or the fact whether he will actually play for us again.

A one year deal for a squad player who we know will struggle to be fit for half a season is a waste of money. I hope Wimmer has better ideas than that. Moult was great when he was here. When we sold him, he was crocked and has struggled to play an entire season ever since. It's a shame for the guy, but we shouldn't be signing him any more than we should have re-signed van Veen. Bring him back as a coach to teach new signings how to shoot.

I totally get that and those who wouldn't touch him and many of the reasons they cite are not unreasonable however when you think how much money we've spent for forwards who couldn't score in a barrel of fannies Id take a chance on him. Surprised United they are letting Gallagher go . Thought he did OK for them.

Unless MW is going to move some of our coaching staff on.

Will be interesting to see if there are any coaching changes over the summer.

I thought that bit went without saying. If they dont have any ability, no one will want them, so there is no sell on value. 🤔🤔🤔
joewarkfanclub
If we want to progress and finish higher than the teams above us in the league, I think we need to stop signing players they have let go. They are letting them go for a reason. Tony Watt should be a great example of that. Similarly with Halliday albeit he has done a job this season. There will always be exceptions to the rule, but generally speaking we should be looking at getting younger more dynamic players with a bit of pace (ability) with the prospect of developing them. We have enough old experienced legs in our squad as it is. Dont think we need any more.

The likelihood of us signing players better than what the top 5 and Hearts can afford is remote.

mfc
Moult was class for us but we shouldn't be looking to sign anyone that can only stay fit half the time.our squad this season has been a shambles and a big part of that has been signing known crocks and players with fitness issues.moult and gallacher are probably better than most of what we have but for me that just highlights how poor our recruitment has been of late.
