wellman
Kennedy got a bad virus in the summer and was out for a good few weeks and lost a lot of weight. He came back and played once with the 20s and has since had a really bad hip problem, which I believe he's seen several specialists who haven't got to the bottom of it as yet. The lack of clarity about it from the club is probably what is causing people to thing there's more to it than that, but both of those one on top of the other seem too elaborate to be false. Do you think he's got the same doc as Vigurs ?
Joeboy
Do you think he's got the same doc as Vigurs ? Are you doubting the legitimacy of Vigurs' back injury? As anyone who has seen my posts on here will testify I'm far from a lover of Iain Vigurs, but having seen him as a punter in the stand at New Douglas Park one day when he was out, he had the most convincing fake limp I have ever seen in my life if he wasn't injured. For what it's worth, the biggest concern for me during both Vigurs and Kennedy's injuries or "injuries" are that they are/were taking a portion of the wage budget, not either's omission from the team. What was actually wrong with Vigurs? I was led to believe it was a long term back injury which threatened to end his career but he seemed to make a miraculous recovery when he left the club. Laing had a great move to Australia lined up but the plug was pulled at the very last minute, seemed to be well down the pecking order in McGhees plans I don't know if that was mainly down to ability or the fact that he alongside Kennedy were apparently on a decent wedge. I think thats one of the reasons that irked Ben Hall.

weeyin
He is a world beater compared to Jules TBF, I don't think the plan was ever to throw Jules straight into a starting slot. I always thought Laing was OK though - but it was obvious McGhee didn't want him for whatever reason.
capt_oats
Without wanting labour about McGhee, he's gone, that's that etc. As much as this may have been an accurate appraisal of his views of Laing at the time I found this comment after he'd left a pretty unnecessary dig tbh: "He looks like a centre half but he's not a centre half. He's not a great defender or header of the ball but technically he has a lot of ability at his feet and he's a great athlete." http://www.motherwelltimes.co.uk/sport/football/motherwell-fc/louis-laing-s-away-to-forge-a-career-in-midfield-1-4356450
Ya Bezzer!
Laing was garbage. End of story. You think if he was any good he'd have been about 5th choice centre back in this team? Kennedy, Hall, Heneghan, McManus were all plainly better options. Nobody is picking on poor old Louis, he just wasn't good enough. Anyway, congrats at getting a gig at the only club below us in the league.

I think the point is that he didn't get a fair crack and McGhee identified him as wage (along with Ainsworth) to free up almost immediately. He only started one game under McGhee at centre half. He's clearly a better player than Kennedy.
GazzyB
Don't our insurance companies pay wages when players are injured? Could be wrong about that.

CrosshillWell
If I was Laing I'd be pretty pissed off about Motherwell too. McGees's comments about him on his release were not required.

that hat
Craig Moore on loan at Ayr had a busy first half but quiet second half until subbed at Easter Road. Nicky Devlin having greater impact throughout a very entertaining game. Just a pity Chris Humphrey out injured for the time being for Hibs. dossertillidie
Do you think he's got the same doc as Vigurs ? I was told he has been told by a specialist that he needs to retire, understandably he's doing his best to avoid that

Loan deal to the end of the season for Grimshaw, went through quite late on deadline day.

Kmcalpin
Stuart Carswell walked off the pitch yesterday with Dunfermline after an argument with his own player. A bit more to it than that I suspect. Reportedly blood was streaming from his nose and he claimed he'd been head butted. Unsurprisingly his manager saw nothing. dinnae-punt-it
Wolves and Birmingham have been joined by Stoke City in the race for Oxford United winger Marvin Johnson, according to the Sun (Sunday 5th March, page 65). The 26-year-old has been hugely impressive for the Us this term since making a move from Motherwell in the summer, and this form has attracted interest from the Championship, and now seemingly, the Premier League. Johnson has spent most of his career plying his trade in the lower regions of the non-league game in England, but burst onto the scene last term with some impressive displays for Motherwell. Oxford have taken to life in League One pretty well, and currently sit comfortably in the table well clear of any relegation threat. Johnson has proved to be a crucial member of the side, and the loss of the exciting left sided player could be huge for the club. The Us though will no doubt be seeking a decent fee for the winger, and Stoke or the host of Championship clubs wanting his signature will no doubt have to stump up the cash to capture their man.
