You forgot Hugh Sproat.

And Peter McCloy. Never saw him play in a 'Well jersey but do remember his final years at rangers. Yeh, I know, a career rangers man but was also a very good former 'Well goalie.

I did think of Shuggie Sproat, in my opinion a comparable standard of keeper with Rennie, but Stuart was a hero of mine so I gave him the nod as second to McRae.

I will admit to having forgotten about McCloy though, put it down to age.

McCloy left the club before I started going to games. It was his leaving that paved the way for McCrae. So I only remember him at Rangers. We got Bobby Watson and Brian Heron in exchange, so not a bad deal for us.

Sproat was certainly entertaining and good keeper, but not the best I have seen. I remember one snowy day at Muirton where he had a mini snowball fight with fans while the play was at the other end.

I'm pretty sure that Shuggy Sproat wore a blue jersey when we played Celtic and a green one when we played Rangers.

That's what I remember. The first keeper I remember seeing was Alan Wylie from what I recall he was pretty decent. I think the team was alng the lines of below when I started going

Wylie

Matt Thompson Bobby McCallum

Aitken Martis McCann

???? Hunter Mcbride ???? Weir

Maybe Pat Delaney, George Lindsay, Pat Quinn and Bobby Roberts would have fitted into that side. Thats probably my first ever Well team too. Tragically Alan Wylie was killed in a car crash near Strathmiglo not long afterwards.

Yes probably lindsay on the right wing and Quinn at inside left I do remember seeing Delaney play and I think Bobby ROberts was a half back. Delaney, was pretty flexible I think playing full back cntre half or centre forward. From Cleland I think

Pat was no world beater but a steady no frills type of player. I recall him playing at centre half and centre forward. Yes he came from Cleland and his father was Jimmy Delaney.
