Desp
Didn't O'Halloran have his best spell at St Johnstone as a striker? He got his move to Rangers on the back of a game at Ibrox where St Johnstone played on a break and O'Halloran ran riot against their shite defence. It's a 'no thanks' from me. capt_oats
As long as it's not before next weekend. If he goes before then and O'Halloran was to come in, I'd imagine that his parent club won't allow us to play him in either of the next 2 games. Even then it doesn't really make much of a difference as Ainsworth would more than likely be starting on the bench anyway.
ONeils40yarder
Got told last night that we have definitely made a bid for O'Halloran on loan until the end of the season...'along with just about every other club in the league'
Lobey_Dosser
O'Halloran is a very good player and would fit well into McGhee's preferred 433. However, I have no interest in taking him on loan from them.
superward
Taking off the Rangers hating glasses (which I own a pair of too) and we would be daft to pass up a player like O'Halloran..if we have a plan for how to fit him in the team that is. I wouldn't want to see him bought and then shoe horned in or played out of position for the sake of it.

numpty
Whether we get him or not, nice to se us taking the 'unsettling transfer talk before a big game' initiative for once http://bbc.in/2jflwi

I get that they're in a permanent state of rage but one boy there claiming that it's "fake news non story", another is still seething about the hero that tapped Lee McCulloch with the flagpole in the play off game. Dearie me.
Well-Made
Barnsley & Oxford are being linked with a move for Rangers forward Michael O'Halloran. #BarnsleyFC #Tykes #oufc Think that may end up at either of these two or a.n. other down South. Spiderpig
An official approach has been made to Rangers for O'Halloran guess we have to wait and see http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38690688

McGhee just mentioned Frear and O'Halloran are two are interested in having at fir park but no more than that.

Watching back his press conference he doesn't make any mention of there being an official offer. All he says is that O'Halloran is a player we'd be interested in but we don't know if he's available or if he'd be coming to Fir Park. scoojy
Why does everything come down to goals? Marvin was hardly a goal machine. And had less assists than Lionel. He offered so much more than basic statistics suggest - runs, passes in key areas, creating space, drawing players to him to create space for others. If we are using the scouting system/software then it can drill right down to what the club are looking for as a suitable winger. It doesn't always mean goals & assists. Also, in terms of lack of appearances, I assume the scouting software will also flag that up, meaning there is better chance of a player moving away from a club. ie has the attributes we're looking for but isn't playing regularly. At that point it's the club's responsibility to physically scout and assess for injury. FYI - here's what I was talking about. Just seen this on Twitter Opta provide these sort of stats. They include expected goals, and expected assists, rather than goals and assists in the past. ie if they have the right players around them the potential is there
Dezz
Not exactly related to the transfer window but Jake Hastie has signed a 2 and a half year contract extension today.

Dezz
Great news. Very strong prospect. Can't say I've seen much of him other than U20's highlights where he's looked impressive but to be in around the first team at 17 years old, making your debut at Celtic Park and being given a 2.5 year extension, he must be highly thought of by Craggs, Faddy and McGhee. steelboy
We've had loans from the Old Firm before and there's been no issue. If we can get and afford O'Halloran we should take him. We need another goal scorer in the team.

Ianc
Tell them to keep him. Paying him is their problem, no need to make it ours.
Kmcalpin
O'Halloran is a decent player but I'm not sure where he'd fit in. I can't see us securing his loan though.
capt_oats
Only for the sake of debate - but O'Halloran is 3 years younger so likely to play more games than Ainsworth and score more goals in the same period perhaps? Yeah, that was really just presented without comment. The 3 years younger point would make sense if we were actually signing O'Halloran but we're not, he'd be here til the end of the season. So unless both Cadden and Ainsworth are leaving (and there's been no indication of either going anywhere) I can't see why O'Halloran would be of interest. Cadden's got the right midfield spot locked down, Ainsworth's not getting to start. So I don't really see why we'd be looking to pay the wages Sevco would be after as a contribution for someone who's pretty much similar to a player we already have on our books. Again for the sake of argument you could possibly say we might look to go all out 433 and move Cadden into the centre? Samson Tait Heneghan McManus A.N Other Left Back Cadden McHugh Clay/Lucas O'Halloran Moult McDonald Edit: The fact that we're in for Frear an out and out left winger makes a lot more sense to me than the MOH shout. steelboy
O'Halloran would play on the left or up front. The club want shot of Ainsworth asap.
Villageman
Probably I am in the minority but I do not get all this hype about O'Halloran. To me he is a ordinary player albeit with a bit of pace. He was one of many ordinary players at St. Johnsone that Tommy Wright got the best out of. I wouldn't say he has been a failure at Ibrox but not a roaring success either, of course that's why he may be available. Much rather have an inform Ainsworth.
