#DeadlineDay | Por otra parte, a falta de confirmación también, parece que Nadir Çiftçi no ha firmado con el #Motherwell.

Anyone like to translate this ?

'On the other hand, for lack of confirmation too, it seems that Nadir Çiftçi has not signed with #Motherwell."

A bit disappointed we didn't get Ciftci in the end after it coming out of the blue. Not sure what the big stumbling block was with it only being a loan deal. Perhaps we were only wanting him if Skippy was leaving. Obviously I would rather have McDonald than him however I was thinking there might be a possibility of having both. Adding him to what we have would have gave us a fresh threat up front. Hopefully we get Pearson in as I think he will give us some good energy in midfield. Him and McHugh in the middle of the park are an interesting combination.

Good luck to Laing always thought he had good potential and gave his all for us.

Anyone think we can read anything into Flow's comment on Twitter regarding Louis Moult and the bids received?

He says 'we will continue our dialogue with the player' ... hint at a possible contract extension on the proviso we sell him in the summer? A few extra (fully deserved) quid in the next 6 months for Louis and it should ensure we get a higher fee when we come to sell him? Or am I reading too much into it?

Thats how I read it that he's going to get a bump in his terms.

Its something thats been alluded to over the past few days in different places that players are often given a little bit more for not leaving during a window.

Crossed my mind that we'd look to offer him an extension with a minimum release clause. We might be able to offer him a few extra quid if we didn't spend our full budget in Jan.

I read it a bit differently. One rumoured was Bulgaria (not sure where the link came from, but sure I saw it somewhere), who perhaps offered a suitable amount, but held no interest to Moult? Like I said, I read it as 'we've spoken to the player about the offers, and if more come in we'll continue to'.

Good to hear club turned down 2 bids for Moult and 1 for McDonald as shows we need them to try and survive and if we manage to hit top 6 will have paid for itself with home games against Celtic,Rangers , and Aberdeen .Im sure Moult will be talked up every week now that he's here till end of season as sure will expect to sell in summer .

A GRAND REASON WHY MOTHERWELL FAILED IN LATE CIFTCI BID 0
BY EDITOR ON FEBRUARY 1, 2017MOTHERWELL
MOTHERWELL boss Mark McGhee failed in an eleventh hour bid for Celtic striker Nadir Ciftci.
His hopes of bringing the Turkish international frontman to Fir Park were dashed in the dying moments of deadline day.
Well emerged as surprise favourites to land the 24-year-old forward just hours before the January window slammed shut.

Ciftci had been a target for McGhee for several weeks as he looked to bolster his frontline under the threat of potentially losing Scott McDonald.unspecified-9-10-1024x574.jpeg

The deal appeared to still be on in the wake of the team’s 2-1 win over Ross County in Dingwall, even with the news McDonald was going nowhere.

However, both parties couldn’t come to an agreement on terms and the deal fell through. Suggestions that Motherwell were unwilling to pay £1ooo a week towards the former Dundee United player’s wages could well be the reason for the deal collapsing.
His former club did not bid to take their former striker back to Tannadice on loan, much to the disappointment of their fans.
Ciftci, who cost ex-boss Ronny Deila £1.3million when he signed him from Dundee United in the summer of 2015, has played only two games – both against Lincoln Red Imps in July – under Brendan Rodgers.
He still has 18 months of his current Celtic contract to run but is not in Brendan Rodgers’ plans. Indeed when Celtic were without both Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths on Sunday for the visit of Hearts, Ciftci could not even make a place on the bench. Celtic coped well, winning the match comfortably.

With Skippy still here, why we would want to pay a grand a week, when we can't play him against his parent club. Even worse if we had lost Skippy or Moult then we'd be weakened for their game again as well.

Aye I read the Bulgaria story somewhere as well. I think it was CSKA Sofia?

You've got to assume the chance for exposure to a decent move down south is better with Motherwell since we get a reasonable amount of televised games as well as it being close enough for him to not be a million miles from family.
