KirkySuperSub
It was just the interview from the weekend. Can't believe I listened to two separate Brendan Rodgers interviews for that. The one with about 37 mentions of "you know"...?

postiejim
Hugh Keevins just mentioned the board meeting tonight but has said he'd bet McGhee will be here to the end of the season..... Also said Rangers would win the playoffs at a canter.

ONeils40yarder
Well hopefully, we get a Leicester-type reaction from our shitehawk players
joewarkfanclub
It was inevitable. Hopefully we can now get more positivity coming from the stands. Now the players have no excuse. Its down to them now to keep us up and show they deserve to be in the premiership.

superward
It was time. I never had a huge dislike for the guy like a lot did. But, as I said earlier in the thread it was clear the time had come. This will hopefully push a button within some of the players and maybe see some fresh ideas on the pitch tactically/selection wise All those who called burrows and the board out for not being able to do it, imposters and won't sack friends...retractions in the post aye? Or will we be shifting to 'they should have done it long ago' rhetoric?
Desp
It was untenable after Saturday's performance. Absolutely the correct decision. It's a shame that it hasn't worked out. At the end of the day, all of us want Motherwell FC to be successful. A number of the players should be ashamed of themselves following recent performances.

Desp
Also, I look forward to the bumper crowd we'll get at the next home game. Afterall, there were hundreds, if not thousands, who "weren't to be back until he was away". Well folks, get yourselves along to Fir Park in a few weeks time. Nothing stopping you now, eh? Or will there be another convenient excuse to roll out?
swami
Unlike seemingly everyone in Scotland, I didn't hate Mark McGhee. But he had to go. Someone wrote the other day that it seemed like even the support had given up, which I think was fair comment. On Saturday I wasn't even angry, just scunnered, and it seemed the same for everyone around me.
Kmcalpin
It was the right decision and the Directors did have the mettle to do it. Sorry to see anyone lose their job though but our club must come first. Once manager loses the fans its an uphill struggle. We now have to move on and hopefully the players will respond.

sbcmfc
Maybe the decision makers watched Leicester last night? Was never a McGhee hater, but after the 5-1 on the tail of a 7-2 (either of which alone could've been written off as a freak) he had to go.
GazzyB
Have to say, did not see that coming. Think it's the right decision though. As much as I wanted it to work out, it just wasn't. As said, a reaction from the players required asap.
postiejim
The men that made the decision are Motherwell men first and foremost, they do what's best for Motherwell, not any individual.
Jay
Can someone copy/paste the contents of that article, as I can't get it to load. Motherwell Football Club has today (Tuesday) parted company with manager Mark McGhee. The decision, taken by the Board following consultation with the ‘Well Society, comes after a disappointing run of results, culminating in Saturday’s loss at home to Dundee. Stephen Robinson, flanked by assistant James McFadden and Under 20s boss Stephen Craigan, has agreed to take temporary charge whilst a new permanent manager is recruited as swiftly as possible. The club wishes to thank Mark for his work during his second spell at Fir Park, particularly getting the club into the top-six during the 2015/16 season and wish him every success in the future.

underboyleheating
It was the correct decision as we were free falling to the Championship with McGhee in charge. The next appointment is vital to our premiership survival.

Guest
Right decision. Hold zero ill towards the guy, gave us one of my favourite ever seasons, took the collection of shitehawks at his disposal to the top six last year, but fuck me, it's gone a bit wrong over the past month, eh? Sacked off Jake Taylor as his first order of business too.
Burn_Broomfield
Won't be gravedancing at the news. McGhee kept us in the league and got us top 6 in a season where we were going down under Baraclough. He's blooded youngsters as per his remit and looked to be safely keeping us in the league as 2016 came to a close. 2017 has been a disaster with something seriously a miss within the squad. The Aberdeen and Dundee games were sure signs of a manager who has lost his squad and unfortunately he's lost his job. Our squad need to have a good fucking look at themselves this week, because their performances in 2017 have been nothing short of horrendous.
