Onthefringes
After the two friendlies I saw against Stirling Albion and Livingston where we played about 20 players in both games, the one player I came away thinking he was going to be huge for us was McLean, his touch and range of passing were excellent in the short time he was on the pitch in both games and in my opinion he was ahead of the other midfielders. You weren't the only one.
Gadgey
You weren't the only one. You hinted at it earlier, do you know (or know of chat) that Robinson doesn't fancy McLean. Cos that would be a shame.
gdalli10
I wondered if it was a hint that another manager liked the look of him.......
ML1
I heard that Robinson disapproved of McLean having the temerity to show that he should be further up the pecking order than Shea Gordon.

Not because of the Northern Ireland connection but simply because Gordon is more physically imposing...

Not because of the Northern Ireland connection but simply because Gordon is more physically imposing... Manager's choosing players that fit their personal philosophy and tactics is hardly a new thing. Manager's being upset because a player in their team plays well, sounds like a rumour spread by either someone who is friends with the player or someone who dislikes the manager. superward
MacLean will play regularly if he is good enough, stays fit and takes his chances when given. Same for every youth player. I think he'll make it. Gordon has the makings of a great player too. EDIT: He's on the bench today. True only youth player as well. So he must be Robinson's favourite actually... MelvinBragg
Looking at that lineup, could be 352 with Frear at wing back again or 442 with Frear playing left wing. Let's hope it's 442...
ropy
What is the lineup?

GazzyB
That's surely a back four?
Lobey_Dosser
That's surely a back four? I'd guess a back 3 but for Frear's sake, I hope it's a back 4. Good to see MacLean make the bench, shame Campbell has missed out. On paper, Morton look like a team who could cause us bother. Interested to hear how Quitongo performs as he returns from injury. Shaka
Id think 4-2-3-1 Carson Tait,Kipre,Heneghan,Dunne Bigi,McHugh Cadds,Tanner,Frear Bowman

Shaka
Can be that or a hipster 4-3-3 depending on personnel & instruction. Its a "fashionable" formation now. Tho if Dunne can play cb it may be 3 at the back but I think LWB wastes Frear!
stuwell
....Interested to hear how Quitongo performs as he returns from injury. Yea he's a player who I thought could do us a turn last season before his injury. One of a couple of local lads I try to keep an eye on. weeyin
Only if you are drunk on your own home made IPA I was only being half-serious, but there are very few formations than can be described in such rigid formations unless the "3" in a 4-2-3-1 aren't allowed to run past the 75 yard point on the pitch.
