sbcmfc
Have the tv games been confirmed for that first weekend? Likely be an early kick-off on the Saturday. Do the champions not traditionally open the season? I'd expect sky will be at parkhead for them unfurling the flag at 1230 on Saturday, and we'll be on BT on Sunday (especially as Rangers may have a European game on the Thursday if they get through the 1st 2 rounds?)
maxywell
Almost certain to be an early kick off on Sunday, half 12 probably. What's the ticketing likely to be for this one, as in are we still giving them less tickets than Celtic or will they be getting bits of the pod stand as well? Ballso
Celtic, Rangers and Aberdeen all at home twice before the split. SPFL keeping us right financially after last year's farce.
Goggles & Flippers
I can see Hibs having the biggest travelling support next season outwith the uglies.
Clackscat
I can see Hibs having the biggest travelling support next season outwith the uglies.Tend to agree, my brother in law is a jambo and says atmosphere there is toxic and will go into complete meltdown if they dont start well. Hibs fans i think more likely to stay behind them in numbers even if they have a poor start...if they start well then their away support will be big. Kmcalpin
I can see Hibs having the biggest travelling support next season outwith the uglies. That will help our bank balance, but I doubt if they'll travel in quite so large numbers as you think. Hibs fans will turn out in huge numbers at the start of the season but then die away as time goes on. They're used to winning but when they meet tougher opposition and results are less impressive they'll decrease. Ever since I can recall Hibs fans have been mercurial - decent teams are viewed as world beaters and mediocre / poor teams are seen as being the worst ever. CoF
St Johnstone away on the 7th April is last game pre-split Definitely a must win IMO.

I think they'll turn out in bigger numbers than the sheep shaggers and consequently more valuable to us.
weeyin
Based on an entire decade (at least) of "Hibsing it" I'm not convinced their fans are used to winning.

One of the aberdeen games is on a Wednesday, wouldn't surprise me if the other ends up on a friday.
Donaldo87
Motherwell’s fixture with Hearts, scheduled to take place at Tynecastle on Saturday 26th August, will now be played at Fir Park. As a result, the proposed second fixture, scheduled for Saturday 9th December at Fir Park, will now take place at Tynecastle.
superward
Just saw that too. Positive - 4 out of the first 5 league game at home now. Opportunity for a good start to the season which can be all important. Negative - 4 away in a row in December (Celtic, Hearts, Partick, Killie)
maxywell
That positive could easily turn out to be negative with 2 of those 4 games being ones we lost last season and could easily lose again, of those first 5 games we'll only be favourites in 2 of them. Brazilian
Have the tv games been confirmed for that first weekend? Likely be an early kick-off on the Saturday. Kind of hoping it's the Friday night or I won't be able to make it. Not sure of the Europa league qualifying dates but that might push it to the Sunday... Europa League 3rd round qualifiers, second leg, are scheduled for 3rd August. I've no idea though what round the Scottish sides are in at and what the likelihood is of making the third round, but on the assumption that that Rangers do, yes you would be looking at the Sunday. Do the champions not traditionally open the season? I'd expect sky will be at parkhead for them unfurling the flag at 1230 on Saturday, and we'll be on BT on Sunday (especially as Rangers may have a European game on the Thursday if they get through the 1st 2 rounds?) So hows does this first fixture pan out now? BT friday night?
Busta Nut
I fucking hope so, I have a trip away on the saturday morn and Jimmy carr tickets on the friday at 10pm. that'd be great.

Toxteth O'Grady
So hows does this first fixture pan out now? BT friday night? Hopefully not. I'm not in any hurry for another Friday night against the Old Firm after what happened when Celtic visited on the previous occasion.
FJ-94
Surely we have to fancy our chances against rangers with them not playing a competitive game for a month before playing us.
weeyin
Surely a full-time professional Scottish team can beat the part-time, 4th best team in Luxembourg who have lost to League of Ireland teams 6 times out of 6. Of course we have a chance of beating them, but if anything, I suspect they will be even more intent in getting off to a good start to their league campaign than they are now. Will not be an easy game.
Ballso
Game now confirmed as Sunday 6th at 1.30pm. Live on Sky

However, I can't wait to get stuck into them and hopefully come away with the points.

Donaldo87
Glancing through again i've noticed that our home game against Celtic in October has been left at Saturday 3pm. Cant have happened that often over the past few years.
