wellowell
Campbell only turned 19 in July so plenty of time for that to happen probably needs a run of games for us 1st .
capt_oats
David Turnbull called up to the u19s. Quite right too. https://twitter.com/MotherwellFC/status/913089122155290630

Ped_MFC
An unused sub as Scotland lost 1-0.
Andy_P
It was on the SFA's YouTube channel. Was a little disappointed he didn't get on but they did say there was a second match with French scheduled for Saturday. Not sure if this is an official international or whether they'll cover it live again (they did say it was a closed door at that indoor place in Edinburgh) but fingers crossed he'll get an opportunity then. steelboy
Cadden and Campbell start. Dom as well. The England team has a lot of experience. A big test for everyone in the Scotland team.
coop91
Finally, an international game worthwhile watching.

Great to see. When did we last have 3 youth products starting for the u21s? Faddy, Pearson and Hammell maybe? IIRC, we lost by 5 or 6 last time we were down there. Heres hoping we can give them a right good game tonight. One or two in this squad, including Cadden imo, might have a sniff of making the senior squad by next summer.
steelboy
Not starting but this is a belter of a team Scotland U21: Smith, Dowie, Lappin, Whittaker, Robertson, Wilson, Foy, Wallace, O'Connor, Fagan, Boyd. Subs: Alistair Brown, Kinniburgh, Dillon, McCunnie, Morrison, Clarkson, Prunty. Malpas was manager...

steelboy
This is like watching England vs Andorra. To be fair to the players Gemmill has hung them out to dry.
MelvinBragg
This is like watching England vs Andorra. To be fair to the players Gemmill has hung them out to dry. In what respect has he hung them out to dry. The Scotland U21s look like a team that has had to pick Hamilton's third choice keeper in goals and has players playing in the championship in Scotland, not England. The England U21s contains guys that have started games for Spurs, Liverpool and Everton this season. There should be a gulf in class... weeyin
For as long as I can remember the England U21s (and U23s) are always better than their Scottish counterparts. Partly as Melvin points out because they have some Premiership starters to choose from and partly because they are always bigger and fitter. So even if the skills match up, bigger and fitter will usually prevail.
steelboy
They are playing the exact same tactics as against the Dutch and which were effective because the Dutch were confused by them. The English players obviously knew what was coming so the 4-6-0 gimmick isn't having any positive effect. As you said there is a gulf in class but we can't get up the park because of the shape.
Lobey_Dosser
Better game since Mallan and Morgan settled at 2-0. Congrats to Cadden getting a goal.

real dosser
didn't start playing till 2-0 down then they had a go and began to give them problems. Cadden scores then they immediately lose another goal to end it as a contest.
daver
How did Cadden and Campbell play? I have to admit to getting at Campbell getting a game having made so few first team appearances. Would have understood them going with the more experienced Docherty. (Edited to make sense)
