New Lithuanian Signing

Was over in Vilnuis for Scotland game and got talking to a Lithuanian fan.

 

He says our guy has potential . Problem is that Demi [ nickname] apparently feels he is a better player than what he is and that a bit more humility wouldn`t go amiss.

He's not injured, apparently there's been a delay in receiving his clearance to enable him to play for us just now.

Any word on his papers coming through? How is he looking in training? I hope he is not Belic mark 2.

I saw him training with the under 20s yesterday morning, he looks decent with both feet and has a decent cross on him, i think once we receive his paperwork through, he will probably get a couple games with the 20s to work on his match sharpness, hopefully sooner rather than later he may appear in the squad.

It's not often you sign a player who hasn't played 90 minutes combined across his whole club career but has seven full international caps.

Not going to get too excited yet, though, as Dom Thomas and Craig Moore were star men for the 20s too.

 

I suspect this guy will be better though, given his international pedigree.

Seemed to alter his position between left and right. His preference is supposedly right.

If he's good enough - not sure how he would fit into our system.

Tanner was also buzzing around a bit tonight as well.

Have to concur about the Lithuanian, mind you it will be a big difference from playing against a Patrick Thistle under 20's defence than the first team, but certainly showed promise, although he did run himself into the ground and knew he would have played 90 minutes.

 

Praise also for Tanner and Plummer who both showed their class tonight.

 

Even the youngsters Livingston, Brown and King played well, McLean at right back!!!

Players on the u20s highlights appeared to be calling him Petey. If it good enough for them, guess we should just go with that. I'm sure the well bois will find that much easier to fit in a song.

Watched highlights last night. From the limited view of him that the highlights showed, he seems to have been comfortable using either foot and was keen to be involved. However, as weeyin and middleeastdave imply, it's too early to reach a final judgement.
