Goggles & Flippers
It was only a few months ago where I had abject apathy, sometimes I'd go internet surfing and find out there was a game on I wasn't aware we'd been in and thought "oh well". The change in our fortunes and atmosphere around the club is electric at the moment. Of course we will experience a plateau, that always happens, but I'm happy to ride on the crest of the wave for as long as I can. In a few short months we've gone from relegation fodder to truly exciting. Look at that team last night, Bigi on the bench and our best player from Jan to May in Frear still to return plus an unknown prospect in Deimantas Petravicius. Off the field we face the Old Firm 3 times each at FP. We're going to Hampden, Les' double your money offer, increased season ticket numbers and massive improvements on the commercial side. We have a manager who places a focus on work ethic and creating a harmonious atmosphere in the dressing room. His recruitment has been focused on sourcing guys based on footballing ability but also the right character. I genuinely feel there is a definite team spirit. We have exciting players who are home grown and also Well fans in Cadden and Campbell, which we can all identify with. While there has been talk to extend this or that players contract, can I be among one of the first to request that we also look at extending that of the manager. I am truly impressed with what I see and I think in time we may struggle to hold onto him.
coop91
There could be a number of players we may struggle to hold on to and if things continue that way then we're doing something right. Let's just lap it up while it lasts and hope it lasts a hell of a long time. To drag up an old line. "Time for new heroes" COYW.
sbcmfc
The league cup final is before the transfer window, which may be a blessing.
fizoxy
I think the increase in attendance, and overall positivity, is just as much to do with the work rate from the players and the genuine positivity from all within the club as it is with the results. The messaging from the board and society all the way down to the media staff is consistent, open and honest, and considering how previous regimes treated the supporters, this goes a long way. Building the right culture and continuing to spend the necessary sums to keep a professional infrastructure should lead to us not depending on one person for success, whether that is a player or the manager, or chief scout, etc. Now, we're not going to keep finding Moults, but you just need to look at the summer recruitment campaign to see that our scouting and signing policies are working. Results can't be guaranteed, and there will be other Blyths, but when there's a clear process and work rate, mistakes can be tolerated by even our more negative fans.

That's it in a nutshell for me, I can forgive all the honest mistakes the team will make, as long as they are giving their best effort and I don't think anyone will argue that we are seeing a team that is playing for themselves, each other, the manager and us. fat_tony
Louis Moult's interview last night just summed it up perfectly. He was so enthusiastic and passionate, and you could just see he was absolutely buzzing. Even Chris Sutton was complimentary FFS...
Goggles & Flippers
Id add the following monetary values:4 Home OF games £250k eachBen Henegan £400k (reported)Marvin sell on fee £500k (conservative)League cup semi £300k (reported)Final?Scottish Cup?Hibs back in the top league all adds up to a decent return for the year financially and thats before we get out of September.Only thing is tricky, with his form and inflenice what would we do come January if someone comes in wanting Moult on an immediate transfer rather than a pre-contract? I imagine a team needing a shot in the arm to turn around a poor start to the season. Do we cash in or keep him for his influence and goals? Not the same kind of player as Louis but could be our ready made replacement to compliment Bowman. Obviously if we get a bit of cash in we might be looking at someone else. hmlarsson
Great start for the season! Long time well fan from Sweden here (since early nineties). Obviously i can't follow the team as close as you lucky bastards who live in Scotland, but the last TV-streams (and internet reports) give me hope for a great season. Much thanks to new management, everything Robinson does seems right on spot (great team spirit, we are not get bullied in the midfield and a manager who is not afraid of make changes when needed). And a keeper who is the best since Randolph left. Looking forward to a good season! Edited September 23, 2017 by hmlarsson

Yorkyred
New to the forum after a couple of seasons watching the club. Just as background I support a guy with learning difficulties through work and after a number of years with season tickets at Rangers and a Hamilton we thought we would give Motherwell a shot. What can I say we've both fallen in love with the club over those two seasons. It just has that feel about it we've never encountered at any other club with the group of fans around us in the Cooper stand making us so welcome. That also goes for all the staff and those running the disabled supporters association. Have to say I was worried when Robinson took over but my goodness what a team we have now with a group of players giving their all for the club and such a feel good factor from all those around us. Love the fact we have young Motherwell players coming through the ranks and that puts many other clubs to shame. You could see on Thursday night just how much it meant to the likes of Caddens and the workrate everyone put in was amazing. Anyway Stephen the guy I supports just loves his Saturdays now and is always talking about the club and that makes me happy, thanks Motherwell.

hmlarsson
Ditto. I am curious about why you hitched your horse to our cart, though! Well, sometimes in the early nineties the Swedish Televison broadcasted a live game between Celtic and Motherwell (as there was no english match to broadcast this saturday, a swedish tradition), think Tommy Coyne scoreded in a 1-0 win! As I'm a sucker for underdogs and that Motherwell has that amazing club coulors, I fell for that combination, As the computer game now known as Football Manager, was very popular I always picked Motherwell to be my team and from that my support growned. And with the breakthrough of the internet my interestest in the team raised, now it was easier to get hold of team selection and scores. My first (and sadly only) live game was vs Kilmarnock in 2005 (Paul Quinn getting the only goal home at Fir Park).
