The African
A tough one to “get back on the horse” but nothing to lose. Although top six is now probably beyond us, we need to still take every chance we can to pick up points. Firstly, we need to secure our top league status and then we need to amass points so we get the cash for as high a league finish as possible. other sides have taken points off this lot. Let’s not get over excited by the usual pish we are likely to hear from Rodgers and have a right goat them.
steelboy
Hopefully we bring our cup tie mentality and get hammered right into them. Their defence is brutal so big Curtis should be right on the shoulder of Boyata for 90 minutes as he always gives you something. Get Bad News Bowman up front as well for maximum carnage. How long will it take holier-than-thou Brendan to express concern about his physicality? It would just be like us to beat them after Saturday's shambles. I hate going to FP when either of The Ugly Sisters come to call but will travel in hope, since, as you say, Sellick's defence has weaknesses. Main's strength and aggression will have been noticed, though, so expect lots of lovely simulation from them. I won't even bother mentioning refereeing standards..... Lobey_Dosser
Celtic have been under par for much of this season but have some of their best players returning from injury. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Armstrong (who loves playing against us) and Roberts make their first start in a while. As much as I don’t enjoy our hoof ball this is the type of game it can pay dividends. The less time the ball spends in midfield the better and as Steelboy suggests, their defence is to be got at. Boyata and Ajer shouldn’t enjoy playing against Main and Bowman. With the semi on the horizon, it’s important to get a couple of confidence building results beforehand. Point here would be excellent. Maybe more if Celtic show any hint of complacency after the Ibrox win.
Lukemfc1
Despite the poor display on Saturday I can't say I'm overly pessimistic about Sunday. The league is basically gone and there won't be the same urgency from them had Rangers won at the weekend. Defensively Celtic are a bit of a shambles just now. I fancy Curtis Main to rough them up, I would pair him with Ryan Bowman. To me, Craig Tanner isn't a striker as Robbo described and isn't as consistent as has been suggested. Ciftci hasn't offered enough to make me think he deserves a start ahead of Bowman. Would be tempted to drop Cadden given recent displays but I'm not sure we have good enough options other than switching Tait and bringing in Frear. We really do owe them one after their last visit to Fir Park and I think that and the cup final should give the players added determination. Carson Kipre Aldred Dunne Cadden Tait Campbell McHugh Rose Bowman Main We need to play exactly as we did in the last meeting in Fir Park, constant pressing on their defence. If we do this Boyata and co will make mistakes. I'm not overly impressed by them up front either. Fancy us to take atleast a draw from this.

I agree that we should have been more offensive on Saturday however Celtic are a different proposition. An extra man in the middle is necessary IMO. Tanner doesn't have the legs to press in the manner we need to on Sunday. To me, we need to get back to playing the way we did earlier in the season. I like Tanner but he is limited and could be a bit of passenger in a game like this.

steelboy
Losing Tanner for the rest of the season is a massive blow. If you look at our goals since Moult left he has been keeping us afloat.

Bigi? Maybe drop Ciftci back and go for it with Main and Bowman up top? Seems far too attacking for Robinson and I don't see Ciftci matching Tanner's workrate. That's a tough one alright. From the BBC: Quote Motherwell forward Craig Tanner is facing between four and six months out after damaging his knee in training. The 23-year-old, who has scored nine goals in his debut season at Fir Park, needs surgery on his patella tendon. "It was a freak incident that happened with nobody near him as he tried a cross-field pass," explained manager Stephen Robinson. "It's a big blow for us and a big blow for Craig but we'll do everything to make sure he comes back stronger." Tanner, formerly with Reading, AFC Wimbledon and Plymouth, made his 36th appearance of the campaign in Saturday's loss at Hamilton. "It's a nasty injury," added Robinson. "His knee cap was out of place and he was in a lot of pain. "He'll see a specialist by the end of the week but we're looking at a minimum of fourth months (out), more likely to be six. "It's a disappointment but there are other boys in the squad who maybe haven't quite had the opportunities and it's now for them to step up." siebsbarmyarmy
Never a good time for an injury but this couldn’t come at a worst time for us. A lot of big games coming up and he has arguably been or most (only) creative player to date. All the best Tanz and hopefully he is back for the start of our Euro campaign. MelvinBragg
Regarding Tanner's injury, I'd love to think it would offer MacLean or Turnbull an opportunity between now and the end of the season. Realistically it probably means a midfield of Rose, Campbell and McHugh for the foreseeable future with Bigirimana and Grimshaw stepping in for the likes of the semi final... Yes good shout we really need to see if MacLean can step up to the plate and what better games than against the ugly sisters . Would love to see young Turnbull getting some game time as the season progresses looks a prospect but will Robinson take the gamble hope so

Maybe indicates they are part of this weekend's first team plans.
