steelboy
If bbc choose it can they not use whatever reporter they want and Rangers would have to make an issue of it or suck it up McLaughlin is the only reporter who is banned but because of that BBC Scotland has decided to boycott them. The BBC Trust should sort it out but Rangers don't seem that bothered.
superward
Quite right, and the bonus is we don't have the Rangers on terrestrial TV. Win win.
weeyin
I wish the rest of the media would ban their coverage too.
siebsbarmyarmy
Kachunga booked tonight after 15mins. I for one am stunned. Must be a delayed reaction to the weekend.

Dezz
Council TV Ah thats unfortunate. I was hoping no TV coverage and a Saturday 3pm kick off which I think would have seen a great crowd. Will it be the Saturday lunchtime game then if its BBC? El Grew
Hearts have only won twice at FP in their history. One was the previously mentioned "John Gardiner Cup Replay" (still sends shivers through me

sbcmfc
Media's tie of the round surely? With BBC sportsounds heavy Aberdeen weighting and the current Media love in for Steve Clarke (admittedly deserved it seems) it would seem a stick on. Unless they let Allan Preston pick. Unless they let Allan Preston pick. Really depends on who Sky pick. BBC won't pick Ibrox and as they were just at Celtic Park are unlikely to pick that one apparently. So it leaves it between Aberdeen and us. Let's just say that the on air talent have no say either before any conspiracy theories start up. Kidding aside, Aberdeen and particularly Killie are flavour of the month, so cant see our game being picked for TV (which is a good thing for those of us that can make it along!) wellowell
Club misses out on 80K though do they not as sure you get 80K each if selected for TV in Scottish Cup
sbcmfc
Club misses out on 80K though do they not as sure you get 80K each if selected for TV in Scottish Cup Ive seen that figure quoted, should get some of that back in gate money though. Maybe not much of it, but hey ho. Will get a better atmosphere at 3pm on a Saturday with a decent crowd than if its moved and folk choose to watch on tv, particularly if its BBC. Onthefringes
Unfortunately, a 2:15 kick off on BBC hampers commercial activity as attendance reduces, hospitality income reduces as not enough willing to get blitzed & pan their coin in on the sabbath... steelboy
I think it's £30k for televised SC games now. That will surely cover the hospitality losses. Hearts fans seem confident they will sell out the South Stand as well.

joewarkfanclub
Why no Friday night game? Is that slot already filled on tv? Far preferable to Sat lunchtime or either of the Sunday slots.....
Welldaft Mk1
Not surprising. Of the 3 TV slots this is the one I would choose. Noon games are too early and 4pm on a Sunday - no thanks. Q - how much do the clubs get for televised game at this stage or any for that matter in Scottish Cup ? I would assume ticket prices for Adults at £15 as it is on TV. There is a precedence and any less would make no sense for a cup 1/4 final. So easy calculation is say average £12 (inc children and concessions) to be divided by TV money. Say £40k - would equate to 3333 fans. Effectively meaning that we probably won’t be any worse of financially, but there will be a potentially a few 000 less than there would have been had the game not been on TV.
